What's hard to understand? Microsoft already stated it will do dynamic 4k or native. 60 fps will be a target point but not every game will or should be in 60 fps.
Worried about an app that lets you play games that would be released for the console anyways? It would be cool for switch guys because they aren't getting those games natively, but good luck getting Nintendo on board with it. I swear. Switch articles are getting ridiculous.
I agree that games are more important than resolution, but at the same time, I do enjoy a game more if it is astetically pleasing along with gameplay. Having gamed since the early 80s, and seeing the growth of the industry, I can appreciate that games that come out nowadays look and play better than the old stuff. The stories are more intricate. The graphics and animation are a lot more immersive. So, for me, a game still has to look good, while maintaining fun gameplay. Otherwise it does not...
It depends. If it has games I like on it, I will buy it. I won't buy it if it says Sony, or microsoft, or Nintendo. To be honest, the best handheld I own is a vita, and that's called a failure. But it has great games on it, so I enjoy it very much. To each their own.
Catch up? No. All they can do is try and keep the fans they have left happy. If they invest in more games, and studios to make meaningful games, they could have a good run. As it looks though, the games on the horizon are not looking like system sellers. With the Scorpio being real powerful, it could be the place to play for third party games, but with the pro, you get just as good a game, plus the excellent first party. At this point, you only buy Nintendo and microsoft as secondary systems....
