And yet the numbers tell us a different "truth" altogether, don't they.
Report was that the original plan was to produce 15m units by 3/31, right?
But it was reduced to 11m.
Sony's own statements then come out and say they were targeting only 7.5m PS5s shipped by 3/31.
So is it "false" because they were never aiming to produce 15m in the first place? Because otherwise, the numbers sure don...
I remember it...
Seems pretty accurate now. Worldwide shortage of chips. Consoles and GPUs out of stock. PS5s selling as fast as they can make them.
Yeah, I think it's safe to say there appears to be a lot of truth to that story.
@ Terry
Remember, Spencer was elevated to VP of Gaming in 2017. I think it's awesome that we're seeing their games on Steam. It's been a long time coming, but they finally started to 1. Support PC again and 2. Wised up that working with Valve/Steam is smarter than forcing Win Store on people.
Not being forced to buy a console is a good thing. Having such a strong PC presence already with Windows makes PC gaming a no-brainer for MS. Why not...
There's some good reports and videos out there detailing some of the internal discussions and general standing of Xbox within MS back in 2014. It was bleak.
Even if you're not a fan of XB, MS, or Spencer, you can't deny the difference between 2014 Xbox and 2021 Xbox.
It's still a wait-and-see situation, but just look at their list of known upcoming games, if nothing else. Quality and final release dates are still huge question marks. Bu...
I wouldn't read too much into it. Spencer is on the ESA's board, so he's going to keep pushing the benefits of E3.
But you also have Keighley's Summer Game Fest in June. MS will be supporting both.
No, no, no. You apparently have to look at Square's earnings to figure this all out.
Just another day in the console war.
What?
The point is platform preference. It's available for sale on PC, PS, and XB.
It's ALSO available on a service on XB.
So...."preference" requires looking at player counts.
You can study Square's earnings statements if you want. It won't help you here.
Ok?
What's there to get? It's a rental service. That's how rentals have worked for decades now.
Having that choice is definitely nice. Outriders wasn't something I'd pay full price at release for, and as much as I love the Show, it drops in price within a couple of months.
I had fun with Outriders this weekend (servers were way better on Sunday than Saturday thankfully). I'll play through the main story some ...
They compensated Square with money. I'm sure it was good.
Similar to how pubs are paid for a timed exclusive.
Guaranteed money is good thing for a lot of companies.
You don't know preferences, because you only have sales.
Show the player counts.
You spammed this comment in the other thread too.
Why would you think Xbox sales would be high when IT'S ON GAMEPASS?
It's just the Sony 1st party + former exclusive combo driving most of the attention.
But the Show is probably the best sports game on the market today imo. Glad Xbox-only players get to experience it.
Plus, I've felt like all sports games should go the service/sub route period, instead of buying minor updates for $60-70 every year. I'm happy to play through GP this year instead of buying it outright.
I'm not sure citing the weekly retail UK numbers is helping you here.
Of course the numbers are higher on PS. There's no other option. Which is why it is a "bad look" in some way.
As the Steam numbers show us too, it's a very popular game. If you had low Xbox player counts, it'd be different. But you're only further highlighting that GP has a very popular multiplat on its service right now.
It's ...
FF6 is my favorite in the series. Kefka is still one of the best villains the series has ever had, and the mixed relationships between the characters has kind of been lost in more modern jrpgs.
Never say never. Some of us just live VI and want it to get the attention it deserves.
I'm pretty lucky in that I have the means to buy and play a lot of games. My time is more limited, but I still try to get in as much play time as possible.
Sounds like you've got both the means and time to play every game in existence at release. What's your secret?
Which is kind of even more interesting.
My question is: was Sony aware that MS was making this deal?
If they weren't, MS just made them look bad. If Sony did know, were they OK with the optics here (former exclusive, now multiplat, only full price on PS vs. great deal on XB)?
There's a lot of MTX money to be made in The Show, so maybe Sony doesn't care. It doesn't make them look too good though.

It'll hit 10 years this holiday.
Despite millions of people spending $$$ on their premium handheld, Sony dropped its support of its own system within a few short years of release.
It was kept alive by talented and committed devs making the very same types of games reported on here.
So, yeah, it is bullshit. But not in the way you're shilling about.
We know the prior license agreement ended last year.
That is far too objective and reasonable for some to see.
Everything bad is his fault.
Everything good is someone else's doing.
This is the fanboy way.
Yes, yes, agendas, agendas. Conspiracies and whatnot.
Was this the same Bloomberg that reported that Sony was INCREASING production previously?!? Was this all a long con on their part??? So devious...
