You are correct, but that hasn't stopped Sony from releasing games on their own.
A few years back they were hyping some Smart Glass and how it could implement AR gaming on xbox. They also showed Halo 4 utilizing it, and the fanboys were already saying it was better than VR.

Hypocrite. He is crearly waiting for it to take off. When VR becomes a viable gaming peripheral in the future, he will do it regardless of people asking for it or not
Get your facts straight because PS VR is over 4M sold. that's a good amount of VRs out there. Xbox fanboys always want to put console sales into perspective to claim anything a failure, but even 4M VRs sold is better than None.
How many PCs are out there and how many Vives and Oculus have been sold? are those a failure as well?
But It didn't take long for Blu ray to be fully utilized, so their vision was right. We only needed one disc to play every game that came after 2008 when they got much bigger, while Xbox 360 needed multiple disc. MGS4 alone would have needed like 8 discs on 360. SOny is the one always pushing for new formats in every of their console to future proof them:
- CD > Cartrige (This is why FFVII was exclusive and many games that needed more space).
- DVD > CD ...
PSP go was just an iteration of an already successful Handheld. i don’t think that really counts
