Steam user count is nebulous because it's free.
PS4 has around 23 million units sold.
This isn't true, Witcher 3 was the easiest game to pirate ever. So that means it couldn't have even sold one copy, that's how piracy works, or so I have been told.

I've been trying to explain that PS Now is nothing but DRM. You have even less ownership of your games than digital which was basically zero as is. Now you can't even play games with out paying a monthly fee.
And I bet it's situation where if you break down the math most people are paying more for a subscription to a service that there only going to play a few games from that they could have owned for less money than they pay for the subscription.
Well the thing is, Skyrim while it has very basic combat, it's functional and it doesn't try to have any illusion of complexity.
The Witcher on the other hand has combat that tries to be very complicated but it's clunky, and the controls just seem to make things more difficult than they need to be.
Guild Wars 2.
In fact a lot of the things they have implemented are to discourage people from buying and to encourage them to do it themselves.
The rank of gear to be able to complete any content (exotic) has basically been the same since launch. And you can easily buy a full set of exotic in one to two days worth of gold from casual play so nothing really feels like you need to buy it.
Also everyone has the exact same gear choices in PVP.
Your right about Zen, it's very expensive, and the amount of product you can buy per $ is very limited.
The thing is people on Xbox have only been playing a few weeks and they don't fully understand the investment required by refinement, and haven't realised how the game works when you reach endgame.
The PVE content starts to get locked by needing to be able to do certain amounts of DPS to beat the content. And the way to get that DPS is to pay, ...
I don't see them as entirely competing, Sony is aiming for the entertainment market, where as Occulus I see as looking more towards the industrial/business aspect with use for gaming as a viable option.
Either way i'm still skeptical that the masses are going to want to buy these devices for day to day use. I mean not that there the same, but look at 3D on TV's that died primarily because of the glasses which people didn't like to wear and you needed to have...
Don't let people fool you the end game is extremely pay to win. People say that you can earn stuff free, but the fact of the matter is the free method is purposely so slow that even if you grind 8 hours a day you'll never finish refinement before they raise the level cap or just add far better items in order to keep people paying. And you need to do the refinement in order to complete the end game content.
And really the worst part is that even when you spend money C...
DragonKnight,
The manufacturer made the decision not anyone else. That is a fact.
Anything else was outside influence only. They could have also chose to leave it. It was their choice and only theirs.
And don't go spouting legal terminology like that it's just silly given the context.
It's not an assumption that people want to, and do read all the flavor text in a game.
I encourage you to prove h...
Well, actually as proved by what happened "What is or is not appropriate" is decided by the games manufacturer, not the individual.
And someone might argue that if your a player who likes to read all the flavor text in a game it's not something that "CAN" happen but WILL happen.
Also a person can respect freedom of speech but have the common sense to for example not walk up to people and just call them derogatory names.
Your not as free to say whatever you want as you might think.
You might want to read up on things like slander harassment and liable as well as other laws related to speech and print.
What was the intent of the poem? Remember it wasn't written by Obsidian but by a non-employee donor.
Even if it was humor do you not think the person who wrote it knew it would be controversial or even offensive?
This isn't even an i...
You sir, don't understand the difference between freedom of speech and good taste and judgement.
Just as an example on this site you can report people for using bad language.
It's the reason why even though Mc Donalds could name a burger the "greedy jew burger" or the "cotton pickin chicken sandwich" they never would.
It would be bad for there image they do it as a choice, not because it's a law.
The "Evil" is of course how much they devalued players time and money investment by raising the levels caps.
I agree with the decision.
I fully support freedom of speech, but that was inappropriate for a commercial release. I think they had every right to leave it in, but it was the right decision to remove it.
Good question, I dunno.
I imagine for the big publishers it's more about exposure than profit. But for the smaller inde devs it's probably nice to get a big check all at once vs unpredictable varying monthly sales numbers.
I mean, not buying the game will certainly improve the situation... I'm sure that's what's best for Kojima and Konami. I mean after all there just faking their financial trouble just to spite you personally... they really hate "YOU".

I liked Bladestorm on PS3 I'd be interested to see how this turns out.
Ya know in your article you show two pictures of Fable which you say this "In the second demonstration, the DX 11 build of Fable Legends runs at 40 odd fps but the DX 12 builds boosts it to 60 frames per second."
But if you look at the image which has a clear average FPS the top image is 43 and the bottom image is 49.
Plus the camera is not looking at the exact same spot. And as computers go literally moving the mouse one degree can drastically chan...
Why would you say that?
The Souls series has hardcore fans regardless of system. TBH i'd prefer to buy it on PC.
Not if the games are good.
People need to acknowledge that a lot of the "indie" games on Steam are utter crap and misrepresent or over state what the content is.
A lot of "indie" devs are just people who are using Steam for a quick a cash grab.
People who unfortunately fall into that trap have every right to ask for there money back.
