yeah, I wonder how they pulled that off.
This.
Isn't it strange that they decided to "correct" their numbers only after news was spreading that the PS3 had finally closed the gap? Seems a bit TOO convenient if you ask me.
I thought Greenburg was just on the PR team.
I REALLY hope this game gets a US/EU release.
i always knew this would happen eventually, but I didn't expect it to be so fast. Color me surprised!
As far as I know, Sony hasn't actually verified whether those were sold or shipped numbers. Those could very well be sold, or shipped like you say. Guess we'll all just have to wait and see.
piracy and used game sells might aswell be the same thing. Because either way, devs aren't going to be paid.
cool, I recommend Uncharted 2, GOWIII, Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time, MGS4(obviously). Pretty much all the exclusives. (I know people get tired of ps3 fans hyping the exclusives but they really are some of the best games out there.)
I was speaking from a business standpoint. As a consumer I appreciate what Sony has done for their fanbase. I simply want them to be successful.(as I said before, they deserve it.) You do realize that won't be able to continue making these 50 million dollar games if they run their business in to the ground don't you?
Besides, if you truly loved the games Sony has crafted, wouldn't you want them to be successful? Half of the time it's Sony own fault that their...
You are seriously in denial if you think the ad campaign isn't the driving force behind it's success. I just read an article(posted today) that was talking about how there was a major spike in sales after it's appearance on Oprah. There's a reason the marketing budget is so big, even Microsoft know that the advertising will be it's trump card.(especially since it's Sony's Achilles heel.)
he was just putting in his two cents. That's what the comment section was made for you know. Besides, it could have been worse. His comment could have been useless and irrelevant. Right?
You make excellent points, however, sells do matter.(and not just to the suits). I'm mean, if kinect really does take off(I'm talking wii level numbers), do you think publishers will remain loyal to Sony? Infact if kinect really is a success, this might make it impossible for the ps3 to catch up to(let alone surpass) the 360. What's worse, this could have a seriously negative impact on hardcore gaming.
granted, if kinect bombs, MS will be in a world of trouble. Th...
I wish other companies(Sony in particular) would get that through their heads. It's as if they want their products to be overshadowed.
You know, in the past I've always felt that Sony deserved to come out on top.(Because they made a superior product imo) But I'm not so sure anymore. Sony just aren't willing to work for that top spot. I think coming in last for once would actually do them so good. That or hire a competent marketing team. Which ever one happens...
... ironically enough, the person above me is the only person who compared the two. And nobody in this thread is sh!tting their pants because the move. You're taking this stuff way too seriously bro, i recommend a break from the console wars.
by the way, people(not just any one group of fans) criticised the wii for it's lackluster library of games(a few gems, but mostly shovelware), not it's control scheme. Just to clear that up.
You see, to be SOLD out, it has to be SOLD there. It's not rocket science. If you were simply joking, I apologize. If not, that was probably the weakest spin I've ever seen.
yeah, maybe I'm reading too much into his post. and I agree it's sorta dumb to not buy the game at all because of a small delay.
lol at the crash and basher thing.
But what I'm taking from his comment is that, either way it'll cost him a pretty penny, but he wouldn't mind being set back if the product was worth it. So I guess in a way: he can afford to be low on cash but happy with his purchase. But he can't afford to be low on cash and not happy with his purchase.
I think that's what he's ultimately trying to say. If that makes any sense.
@dmarc, calm down bro, it's just video games. If bei...
but I still think that the idea Kinect is trying to sell will at least be perceived as new, even if it isn't. Not to mention, Microsoft has the biggest market muscle, and they'll probably get people(even people who are tired of motion controls) to buy into the hype.
I think what he meant was that he can't afford to WASTE that kind of money.
wow!, and here I had been thinking he was just PR for all this time. I'm surprised. By the way, I wasn't trying to correct you or anything. I really didn't know that was his job.
