Looks like it ain't the graphical Jesus that all the Sony fanboys were prophesying. I'll still rent it for the 3D experience.
Anyhow, I'm about ready for something NOT Killzone 3 to be blasted all over the top of N4G. Agree if you feel me.
"but even a $500 machine will run Call of Duty or any other console game as well as, if not better than, a console. "
Right... why would you spend $500 when you can buy a console for $300? Also, does that $500 PC come with a bluray player? How about a wireless gaming controller? I work all day on a PC, why the heck would I also want to game on one? That would be like a bus driver taking his bus off road in his spare time - a little too much time spent in the sam...
There is absolutely no comparison here. LA Noire by a mile. No, 10 miles.
If you have even the slightest eye for detail, you'll agree that LA Noire floors every other attempt at facial animation capturing. Heavy Rain and Uncharted still look great though.
"Looks like a workout. That is a good thing for fat out of shape WoW players."
Hahaha, that's the truth.
No matter how good this works, serious WOW players will never adopt it. It's all about efficiency and macros with WOW, and until the Kinect can read your finger movements sitting down, the efficiency of motion won't match keyboard and mouse.
Cool project tho.
I hate to sound like a prick, but the fact here is that I just have more refined taste than you in gaming. Not gonna waste time bullshitting for PC purposes. The only thing I hate with more passion than you could possible comprehend, is stupidity and those who defend it.
I own every console out there, and I have since the Sega Master Syetem/Nintendo days in the late 80s. I've built my own arcade machine from scratch. I'm a huge video game fan and from my 20 years...
Totally agree. Uncharted 2 looks AMAZING, no doubt, and the sound effects and cinematography are top-notch for sure. However, the gameplay is very average - let's remember, we're talking about a game, not a movie.
For it's presentation, I'd for sure give it a 10/10 or even 11/10, but as far as gameplay goes, probably a 7.5/10. Yes, it has a lot of cool types of gameplay blended together, like 3rd person shooting, platforming, puzzling, etc., but it doesn...
Hahahahaha.... that's fine, believe what you will. I don't want to ruin the magic for you. Again, why else do you think you can't change the camera angles? That Lavos boss has A TON of pre-rendered movies. If you had a 65" plasma, you'd notice the compression artifacts in the background movies. Looks great either way, but don't think for one second that all of the backgrounds are being rendered real time... but then again, you're probably one of those people ...
When a good portion of your "in-game graphics" are pre-rendered movies, yeah, it will take up nearly 50gb. God of War III is the same way - tons of background movies are playing in a lot of the levels to give the illusion of amazing in-game graphics. Why do you think you can't change the camera angles in that game?
That's the main edge PS3 has in this generation - the storage space to put lossless enough videos into their games that pass off to 99% of pe...
I'm surprised no one has mentioned Silent Hill Shattered Memories. In all honesty, probably my second favorite Silent Hill next to number 2. Probably the most underrated/unplayed survival horror game out there.
^^ I wish I could hit the Agree button 100x.
You want to talk BRICKED? Ahhhh, how soon we forget the ApocalyPS3.. Right around the time I got Heavy Rain, too. SOOOOO frustrating! On top of that, Heavy Rain was literally BROKEN for almost a month. I literally couldn't get past a certain chapter because of some major bugs. I love my PS3, my 360 and my Wii, but Sony is by far the worst with patches and updates.
WOW!!
Little Big Planet 2 might just be the best Playstation exclusive. With all of the user levels from LBP1 being forward-compatible, this is definitely a game worth buying a PS3 for!
Awesome. One more useless update for the PS3 that takes 10-15 minutes to download, then install.
I also like how the PS3 told me I needed to update before using Netflix, then backed out and tried a few more times and it just let me use it.
I own both consoles, and when it comes to system updates or downloading demos or game updates, Sony is riding the fail whale.
Fanboys with only PS3s who take product criticism personally will disagree.
I think Home is an amazing idea, but HOLY COW Sony, get this thing out of Beta already!!!
Seriously, I think Home is the best idea since online gaming, but I feel as though Sony is kinda dropping the ball with it. They really need to promote it more... well, fix it so that it's more stable first, then promote the crap out of it.
The fact that Microsoft isn't jumping all over this idea is a real head-scratcher. They already have millions paying $50+/...
If they look fine, then I suppose they'll never need a GT6 or PS4, right? What I mean is, there's always room for improvement, and when you compare the road detail in Forza3 vs GT5, you'll see what I mean.
The car looks much better on GT5, but the environments look way better on Forza3. That particular track on GT5 looks kind of embarrassing actually (again, especially for a 5 year dev. cycle. I know everyone points that out, but come on.. that's a long time for the graphics dept. to get a grasp on things), I mean, the flat tires, sprite bushes and road detail look very PS2.
Butthurt fanboys will give this comment a thumbsdown.
LMAO at the Sony fanboyd damage control... seriously, if you don't like these article DO NOT CLICK ON THEM!!!!!! you do realize that your little defence force is just adding degrees to the story and bumping it, right?
This game is a disappointment, face it. Sure, it's still a great racing game, but this isn't the same "head-and-shoulders above the rest" Gran Turismo we all knew with PS1 and PS2. Brands like Forza do many things better, and last gen, GT...
Come on Sony Defense Force, where are you guys on this one? 3/5 translates to a 6/10!!! Every review site is being paid off my M$, right?
Hahahaha, it's hilarious to watch fanboys cry over their precious exclusives :)
Butthurt fanboys spend more time crying about reviews than actually playing the game in question.
Hahaha, I love how many people here think they know more about a video analyst just because they've owned a total of 2 or 3 Sony consoles in their teenage lives.
Pachter is one of the best in his field, and that's why he gets paid the big bucks and that's also why most people who flame on these boards work at Taco Bell.
I own all three consoles. I consider myself a fanboy of video games, not corporations.
