We need more SCARY survival horror games. RE4 and RE5 were not scary at all. Great games, but too action/shooting focused.
I really miss the creepy camera angles from the original RE games. The slow pacing established the atmosphere and kept you on the edge of your seat.
Actually, yes it is. Why not? Because the combat sucked? Go play Call of Duty if you want good combat.
I play Silent Hill games for the atmosphere, story and puzzles - 3 things that Shattered Memories nailed better than every SH game since SH2.
EDIT: @sam2236
Yeah, I'm one of those idiots who thinks Silent Hill 2 is still the best... as do many hardcore Silent Hill fans.
Besides the few ran-away-from-the-enemies parts,...
Shattered Memories is right up there with Silent Hill 1 and 2. n00bs who think Homecoming was sweet will disagree.
^ and then offer a trial PSN+ for a month? Seriously, sites do that ALL THE TIME... without having you lose your personal financial security :P
Heck, they're doing a 30 days free trial of Hulu on 360 right now.
Either way, that 30 days of PSN+ is such a huge scam. Way to turn the biggest case of internet security fail IN THE HISTORY OF THE INTERNET into a commercial for PSN+
Disgusting.

Okay people lets do a little math:
Swapping a disc takes, what... 15 seconds?
Installing MGS4 takes... 30 minutes?
Heavy Rain about the same.
How long does it take to update a 360 game?
about 5 seconds. (no joke Sony Ponies, that's ~ average)
How long does it take to update a PS3 game?
several minutes on average.
Also, read time from a DVD is faster than Bluray. So on pretty much ...
Actually it was. Obsidian pretty much just made a big mod for the original Fallout 3. Heck, Fallout 3 and New Vegas are essentially big mods on the original Oblivion engine.
Bethesda makes THE BEST role playing GAMES.
Sure, there are FAR better stories out there (final fantasy, mass effect, etc.) but as far as pure role playing gameplay? Nobody gives you the freedom to do what you want and go wherever you want. Uncharted and God of War might be pretty, but those are extremely linear set pieces, ie, you can never wander off the super narrow path you're given.
Come 11.11.11 I'm going to say goodbye to my social life for a...
^ you know that posting that here just adds degrees right?
N4G is a news aggregate site, which means that when a story is popular, it bumps up to the top.
Sick of these stories? The best solution to see them disappear is to simply not click on them.
"The vulnerability of the network was a known vulnerability, one known of in the world. But Sony was not aware of it... was not convinced of it."
Typically Sony ego. Pride comes before the... what was it again?
Playstation, it only does D-pad.
Actually, anyone that a big fan of fighters will most likely invest in an arcade stick. Just like any racing fan will invest in a wheel.
The ONLY thing better about the PS3 controller is the Dpad. And considering this is 2011, not too many games use it anymore.
Typically Sony arrogance to think that when they tacked on anaolog sticks to their PS1 controller back in 1997, it was perfect. Typical Sony fanboys to agree and defend it as perfect. The original ...
Only Sony could turn the most massive online security breach into an advertisement for a paid online subscription service and not have their fan base cry foul.
Sony is like "Hey, remember that free online gaming service we screwed up so horribly... wanna start paying for it now?"
They screw up and their customers lose twice over. If I didn't despise Sony fanboys so much, I would probably feel sorry for them.
Enjoy!

In the words of our great former president:
"fool me once, shame on... you... fool me twice.. uhhh..."
Hahaha, too true. And the article's pic is all kinds of win, lol.
Hahaha, very good sir.
Exactly. Let me help this article:
"But, but, but Microsoft has been dealing with networks, software and operating systems for years. They have history in interfaces & ease of use (being hacked and security as well). What does Sony mostly work in? Cameras, computers (just the hardware people) and TVs/home entertainment (when we say home, we mean things like Blue Ray players). The history and experience of these two companies, regardless of what gaming systems they...
@kingdavid agreed. Sony knows hardware, Microsoft knows software. Online is a software thing, and Sony has been fumbling with it since day one.
The updates every weeks which do nothing but piss me off when I'm just trying to play the newest LBP2 levels. Live takes LITERALLY 5 seconds to update games. PS3? several minutes on average. Waitstation indeed.
Also, when is Home going to get out of Beta? Probably the best idea in online console history and...
Yeah man, exactly what you said about being too confident. The slow pace and super limited ammo supply in the old survival horror games made just about ever single zombie encounter a meaningful and suspenseful one.
Dead Space was sweet, but I totally agree with you that it was a bit too focused on action.
