Microsoft has been building on Xbox Live since the orginal Xbox. They're untouchable when it comes to that software/online infrastructure.
Today, When you think competitive multiplayer, you think Xbox. I don't think that's going to change anytime soon.
Personally, the Xbox ONE controller coupled with live is the reason I want to play Destiny on Xbox.
Some games could really benefit from better hardware. The original Bioshock for example. . The unreal engine's texture popping plus low settings on PS3, yuck.
Not really interested in those games. I'll sell them both for whatever I really want. :)When I get my Xbox this fall :D
I'll only play FIFA over a buddy's not online.
This is a prime example to those that believe a more powerful system is automatically the better system.
Despite having better hardware the Vita is still trialling behind the 3DS. I wonder why..
Whatever happens, I'm still a proud owner of one.
i could never feel like i wasted my money on the vita.. why?
it plays games.
It isn't about power. . And, Xbox Live is still the leading online service. This has always been the case since the first Xbox.
If I were a fanboy, I would also think the PS4 is superior at everything. Being objective isn't so bad you know?
I would prefer playing my indies portably, like on my 3ds and vita, with the exception of games like No mans sky.. this one's a larger scale.
When I sit down to play my home console, I'm looking for deep single-player experiences , looking to get competitive.
But, it's also nice to have indie games on a home console as an option.
U4 is probably a fall 2015 title. For now, let's just discuss hair rendering.
While a slimmer PS4 would be welcome, I want a quiet one. Once the the components begin to shrink perhaps the loud noise can be gotten rid of.
Size doesn't bother me, just get rid of the noise. Everything is cramped in the small box as a result there are loud fans in there to cool things down.
I'm just waiting for a hardware improvement. Doesn't have to be a slim.
Game-play, one should never deviate from that.
The "flash and CG trailers " are usually misconceived. The purpose of them is to depict the concept of the game. Gamers are gullible, they expect CG quality visuals in final builds then get disappointed when the actual product is released.
I think devs shouldn't bother showing anything till they've got a playable build...
What's a "Sony-type game"? An indie game? There are games, now there are "Sony-type" games lol.
The 360 is known for sporting great indie games. You shouldn't have such a narrow perspective on things.
Just one non-rhetoric question, What's a "Microsoft-type" game?
I would love a Gears Collection.
I agree with the author. .The Last of Us is overrated.
It's a movie-like game, where presentation, story and characters take priority over gameplay. Not everyone is into these types of games.
Personally, I thought the gameplay and A.I were weak, other games would get slaughtered for this in reviews, but the last of us gets a pass, why? probably because of the cinematic storytelling.
Lol it'll be worth it. Enjoy.
I think its too soon to see gears in motion
that looks good..
Microsoft is making it DIFFICULT for me NOT to buy an Xbox ONE.
It depends on what type of game, some "games" priorities one aspect over the other.
Some RPGs for example might have dull game-play but tell memorable stories with memorable characters.
I haven't played a lot of indies, yet. I'd love them in portable form. Mutant mudds is one if my favourites thus far. I'm thinking if getting shovel knight soon.
Same here. . Everything else, bargain bin.
