You have zero proof to provide how relevant the current Playstation 4 will be (if they do go all the way with a 4K) machine. The PS4K may not even exist but I accept the updates are likely to be a slim with differences.
PC's are the better for the long term you also forget the games are cheaper the mods are in another leauge, the pixels and framerates are more and stable. Ditching a console of under three years IF a newer one arrives makes perfect sense.

Go back to that 720p Microsoft machine, it awaits you with repeated exclusives.
Chug PC is cheaper and has more custom ideas than a console renewal it makes more sense to go PC than recycling a console like it's a new phone.
Another thing with PC is, you don't have to upgrade everything at once, it can be done in stages.
I suggest you try a franchise called Call Of Duty, loads of repeated games yearly charging for extras with season passes, DLC etc
