Again agree with what's being said only used smartphones as an example because it's popular tech and many buy yearly at high prices even if they do it every 24 months it's still more money.

Judging from that comment you didn't experience the 90's. Nintendo were king of what they did. Wasn't just the games from Nintendo, they provided loads of decent games to play.

I agree the upgrades are not going to sit well but smartphones these days are too similar yet they charge more and more and people buy and buy.

Myself personally if I see the 4.5 console then the Playstation 4 is going for sale and I will return to PC.

Cornholio who mentioned Playstation 2 and Xbox? I certainly didn't.
Playstation 2 came out before and made a name for it's self with the first console being popular.
Xbox on the other hand were new and had to prove themselves. The marketing was also different in them days. example being Japan bought everything but an Xbox but fast forward to 2016 and the Playstation isn't as popular as it use to be and Xbox still doesn't sell well.
