It normally cost 120$ for 2 years. At 30$ it's a steal. Buy 3 full price games in a year and you have already saved more money than you spent on the membership. If your like me you buy way more than 3 games a year so the savings really pile up.

Your missing the point at 30$ for 2 years it's a steal! Your saving 20%. Its not 51$ vs 60. It's 51$ vs 66$ you have to add tax in there. Not to mention best buy offers 10$ back if you pre order a lot of games. So a day 1 purchase of a new game costs me 41$! That's a great deal and you will be hard pressed to find anything comparable.
Maybe they are worried about letting you store mp3's as it could be a back door way to hack the system? I dont know if thats possible but if it is this would be a way to mitigate that.
You dont charge a controller the entire time your playing. I have one port for the headset giving me one port to designate for playing mp3's. I have a stand alone charger. Even if I didnt I would just unplug the memory stick when I plug the controller in to charge. The charge on the controllers is more than enough to last a gaming session. If its not there are bigger issues at work here.
Much more strategic than mass effect. I enjoy both but love dragon age much more.
