For one thing, you added the $180 120GB HD cost to the $400 premium version, which makes no sense because you can get both in the Elite for $480 (Giving you HDMI as well). Sounds interesting, but I have worries about another big letdown. Most probably Killzone 2, but who knows what it looks like, not to mention how it plays. I have nightmares about getting this awesome, CGI quality game with mind blowing visuals...and then having it play like the burger king titles.

If the sound and the video are the only thing that changes between versions, isn't it still the same game? I mean sure I'm all for good graphics but last time i checked it was the gameplay that was important, right? If a port is "shadow of a shadow" of its former self because the sound and graphics aren't as good as the original but everything else is the same I think that would be a decidedly negative comment on the gameplay content.

Yes the ps3 has some features that the 360 doesn't have, but some of these things you mention are too small to make any real difference to most consumers. Scratch resistant disks? If you can't take care of your disks you probably deserve to have them destroyed. Wifi? Blu-ray? While nice, most people (myself included) could really care less. Free online? Motion sensitive controllers? LIVE is worth a paltry sum like $50. And let me ask you this. Does the ps3 have rumble?

Everyone on this article seems to be saying that since the ps3 is somewhat more powerful than the 360 (Which I agree it is, I'm not fooling myself, I just don't think it's INSANELY more powerful) the ps3 is automatically the superior system. As far as programming and environments go, I completely agree with you that blu-ray is an advantage. However, from an economic standpoint it is yet to be determined whether or not it was worth the additional cost of the ps3, seeing as it may have priced Sony out of certain households.
The 360 has hardware issues. It's true. This is old news. However it has and is only going to get better. When you actually read the article you'll find that ONE EB games manager found the failure rate AT LAUNCH to be about 30%.
