What?? Gone Home and it's incredible critical acclaim prove exactly how right he is.
Yeah, he's right. Not many games use the full potential of what the medium is capable of for story telling. The ones that do are subsequently lauded with praise. While, yes there are games that tell good stories without it, they would be infinitely better if the story was implemented into gameplay, and that's a fact.
Eh. I prefer vanilla death march over this.
That most of the people buying this game are probably buying it for that exact reason is not a good thing. People should be buying games that they think are good. They shouldn't be hipsters buying poorly made games to "stick it to the man" or whatever it is they think they're doing, when they're just supporting bad devs who know exactly how to manipulate people and use the market.
D.C.'s really lucky so many gamers are hipsters that'll do anything the press doesn't like.
I've never been a fan of from software. I've heard that Bloodborne's combat is a lot more kinetic and fluid than the Souls games, but in the souls games, it just felt so clunky to me. :/
You gotta hand it to Destructive Creations. They really know how to make a mediocre game sell itself.
Whenever I play an RPG, there's always a feeling like, "If it just did [Blank], it would be perfect." With Skyrim it was the combat. There's one and only one RPG I've played that doesn't give me that feeling at all. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. That is by far my favorite RPG of all time. Standing above Fallout 3, Skyrim, DA: Origins. I love it so god damn much.
On a side note, I'm a little annoyed at Steam. The amount of time I've spent playing ...

Hope this helps convince you that it's an incredibly uncommon bug, which is why they probably haven't patched it. Could the problem be something to do with your computer?
As someone with over 78 hours in this game, including Novigrad, I have no idea what you're talking about.
"Geralt will not longer interact with candles near chests and other interactive elements."
Thank Christ.
Oh, yeah.
Looking forward to it. Hope they release the changelog early.
So, I'm guessing you've never heard of Star Citizen?
I need a Guillermo Del Toro video game in my life.
To be honest, I've been playing with POI's off for so long I forgot that they're normally on the map.
Of course it will. People still have to finish the bloody thing!
I have to agree about the colors, I adore the DA:I's art style. But, personally, I prefer Witcher.
I couldn't care less about the whole ultra-violence thing, but, in terms of just gameplay, this game looks incredibly boring. It looks like it's just murder porn for the sake of murder porn without anything else holding it up.
So clearly you didn't even bother reading the article. His problem isn't that games have stories, it's that they are doing it through cutscenes instead of telling it through gameplay like it should and, thus, failing to make use of what makes video games so unique and powerful as a medium for telling stories. He's completely correct.
