EDIT:Oh sorry, this is just for the ps3 crowd. Then yeah, Last Guardian will probably be my most wanted, along with infamous 2. Couldn't give a shit about the others. Even Deus Ex 3, they'll probably make it into a load of crap like the 2nd one.

Always cracks me up that games are compared just for similarities to GOW. GOW wasn't the first game with hack and slash settings, so why compare? Is every game with those settings going to be compared to GOW?
It wasn't the first to have those gameplay mechanics and it seems that every game that even hints at being in the same genre gets slapped down just because it has similarities to GOW.
Castlevania was a hack and slash long before GOW was a blink ...
You should take a game for what it is really. I love San Andreas and hold it above GTA4, but GTA4 is still an excellent game. The same goes for Res 5, not quite as great as Res4 but far better than the others.
Comparing games is pretty boring, I could compare games all day long and I'd just reach the conclusion that I'd compared games for too long. Take a game for what it is, if you enjoy it then it's a good game. That's the way I felt about RE5 and GTA4, I p...
I remember sneaking downstairs after my parents went to bed so I could watch the horror film they'd just seen, or any film that was deemed not suitable for my age actually. I did that on many occasions, up until the time they thought I was mature enough to watch films of that nature, I was around 13-14 years old by that time.

Huge disappointments to you. He might enjoy Res5, I did. Do not get GTA4 though for the reason that you don't like open world games, but it is an excellent game.
