Today you can run at 1440P Max detail on Pc with a GTX 1080 on the latest call of duty at Max settings and get 80fps and it looks great. But that is maxed out turn it down to the next graphics settings and you get 100 fps. Turn it down to streamer settings and you get 140 fps. Multiplayer games like battlefield 5 runs over 100 fps i get 120 fps in 64 player matches with a Gtx 1080 at 1440P so the series S should be alot better than that. SO for 1440P it should better than a 1080. If t...
@camelCase
The games will still load faster just like PC old games loaded extremely fast even for games that were made before SSD's were a thing. In 2007 when World of warcraft the burning legion launched people were buying SSDS to speed up load times because wow loading times could be 3 minutes, with a SSD it went down to 15 to 30 seconds.
@SullysCigar that is not what they said at all it said that games can run up to 1440P 120fps. And if you can do that on a regular gtx 1080 you should be able to do it on the series x since its newer hardware.
The day before i claim my 3080? Not going to stop me sony its the PC master race week!
Lets not forget all the crap sony said over the years like, you should just work a second job to afford a PS3 lol.
Nope 1080P 120hrz with HDR max texture detail no one will be able to tell the difference. If my 1440P monitor didnt look stupid at 1080P when i down scaled i would run all my games at 1080P 165+ fps and max out the texture detail it would look and run better overall, trying to scale anything other than call of duty Br looks bad and stretched out.
@Bruh
WE do know on 4 year old graphics cards, unless amd new gpus suck they will be fine at 1440P 120fps im sure this gpu is more powerful than my gtx 1080 and i game at 1440P between 90 and 165fps on high and ultra settings. FPS would be alot higher at 1080P but trying to scale 1440P back down too 1080P looks too stretched out to me so i dont do that, So if developers made 120fps 1080p games with HDR with max texture detail they would look great and no one would care.
They said that about the xbox 360 that didnt have a hard drive and it sold like hot cakes.
Yeah the 1000 cards from Nvidia can do 60 fps at 1440P easy most of the time most games run 80+ fps and better optimized games run at 120 fps to this day on that old hardware. And the games that are cpu bound like world of warcraft and counter strike, world of tanks ,world of warships will get over 165fps at 1440P.
120 fps isnt hard with that ok cpu its not as fast as the pc version but getting 120 will be more on the gpu if RDNA2 is as good as AMD says. I say developers go with 1080P max detail 120fps will be fine with people who dont want to upgrade their tvs just for a new console.
ATI has been behind since AMD bought them Ati should be their own company again. The good old days of my 4870 maxing all my games at 1080P i paid 130 dollars for it best graphics card i ever bought. Games was running at 90+ fps when i only had a 60Hrz monitor. People say you cant see those frames yeah but the games feels far smoother the more i overpower the game. Just like world of warcraft, fallout 3, bad company 2 those games were so smooth and multiplayer felt soo good killing enemy'...
Im waiting for next week got my money for my RTX 3080 next week.
1Tb isnt good as well i have 5 1T ssds in My pc. And my steam library will not fit on that at all. Call of duty is 300Gb . Battlefield 5 and 4 are like 120GB as well and then world of warcraft is like 100Gb.
Its enough for 1440P 4k is overrated if you play multiplayer at all 4k isnt worth it.
I have a 1080 regular and i was getting 90 to 120 fps in games at 1440P thats why i didnt buy the 2000 series didnt need ray tracing yet now is the time to upgrade. I hope i get me a 3080 i have the money in the bank waiting.
There is no waiting they will sell out in 5min the miners already said they are going to try and buy them up i hope they put up a one per person cap this time.
@yomfweeee
Tflops are different with each generation you cant compare them generation to generation. Rdna 2 is better than Rdna 1. Just like each gen of ryzen cpus are better than the last at the same speeds because of better IPC performance.
@averagejoe26
1440P isnt hard to run as you think i run on 1440P 90+ fps on most games even games like Battlefield 5 runs in 64 player multiplayer matches at 115fps and i have a much older card a Gtx 1080 but it over clocks higher than most cards.
@KaladinStormblessed
2080 ti cards are selling for 400 dollars now and the other 2000 series cards prices are dropping to nothing oh yes their are PCs out there now that can run games at 1440P for 500 dollars because the 2000 series is officially dead and you can pick these cards up for cheap now and they still run games well. I run games at 1440P with a 1080 and it still runs games at 100 fps with high or ultra settings at 1440P
@yeahokwhatever I will believe it when i see it. I miss ATI they would kick Nvidias ass every once in awhile. Since they got bought by AMD they have always been behind. I miss ATI they need to be let go and be their own company again they never let Nvidia get this far ahead.
