The reason MS is doing what they are is because they can't compete with Sony in the console market.
A faster drive is coming along than the SSD in the PS5. It will be supported by the PS5 but it will be also in PC's. So that is not a good point for buying the PS5 as soon after it is released, faster options will be available for the PC than the PS5's SSD.

Why would you buy a PS5 when you know that Playstation games are released on PC and will run better, will look better, will have mod support, will have higher FPS, will support K/M and many more imput devices?
People mainly buy Playstations for the exclusives. Exclusives matter and Xbox is a good example of that if anyone ever doubet that fact.

This will lead to less games sold on Playstation as people are patient and can wait 1-2 years to play then on PC. It will also result in less Playstation consoles sold as well because what is the point of buying Playstation if all their games get released on PC as well?
