1) Diablo can function a lot better on consoles than other offerings from Blizzard
2) I could easily picture Bobby K pushing Blizzard into a console version and likely investing resources that Blizzard itself may not be willing to.

Have you seen the trailer? It was some of the best damn graphics I've ever seen. I'll honestly be surprised if DICE gets it running that good on consoles.
