It is freezing like hell in Manhattan. I'm glad I'm in the office.
I never really picked up Bully, probably because by the time it came out I had already moved on to the next gen, so it'll be interesting checking out the "director's cut."
This was the game that I was going to force my hand into buying a Wii. It's all good though, gives me more time to save up some spending cash.
It's actually from the Kitsap Sun, which is a paper for Kitsap County in Washington state. It's legit. Hilarious, and legit.

Well that's kind of the point. It's supposed to highlight the games that are exclusive to those specific platform.
It's supposed to be like the All American awards in collegiate sports
LMAO, "neglected orphan?"
And yeah, I mean there were a couple of standouts (Ratchet and Uncharted), but 2007 wasn't even close in the battle between 360 and PS3. I can't wait for the competition to ramp up between those two.
Yeah, I've been telling my staff that we might start seeing some quality on the PS3 this year. That was inevitable. It has really powerful hardware, and it just takes time for the developers to understand it. We should definitely start getting some good games on the PS3 this year.
That was such a great movie! Just going to throw a plug our there too for A Clockwork Orange.
While I actually have been reading at Borders because they have a particular book I was looking for and it's a block away from my job, I definitely agree. Reading a good book can stimulate the mind in ways not capable in other media, just like the the way videogames stimulate us in ways books can't.
While I've been pumped for Alan Wake since I heard about it, I haven't heard many details since its announcement. I can't wait to see what they actually do with this game.
Brutal Legend is a big one for me since I'm a giant Tim Schafer fan. Not only did he do Monkey Island like they mentioned, but he and Double Fine also did the amazing Psychonauts. One of the most overlooked titles of the last generation.
Depending on the pricing of such a subscription and the amount of downloads released on PSN monthly, I might actually try that out. I don't think it would be a bad deal. I loose a lot of money monthly downloading off of Xbox Live, and that's a paid service. So on top of paying for my XBL Gold membership, I also have to pay for subscriptions.
If they came out with a Netflix-esque download model in which I pay a monthly fee and I could download and play two demos or so at any on...
Really I think it's cool... :-(
Despite what any console maker says (the PS2 was supposed to last 10 years too), we'll see new console talk around 2010. If I were MS, I would hold off on Gears 3 until the Xbox 3 comes out.
Technically Duck Hunt was remade, they have it on like Wii Play I think.
I remember when I first got my PS2, a mere 4 months later (yeah it waited till the warranty was over) I started getting Disc Read Errors. I was one of the first to have DREs so it wasn't a common problem. Sony charged me $150, half the price of a brand new PS2. I was so pissed.
The casual games sector is the fastest growing one in gaming. One of the biggest reasons is because it doesn't carry the social stigma of traditional gaming.
Once you start to build your characters up and you realize how important the biotics is, you then see how much fun the combat system is. It's not a shooter, it's an RPG masquerading as a shooter but once you understand how the system works and how it was meant to be played then you'll have a blast.
I usually like Shacknews, but I'll have to disagree on this assessment.
But gaming is “no longer about 16 to 24-year-old males who can’t get a date on Saturday night,” said Kotick.
It hasn't been that way for a while. I hate how ignorant some people are about the growth of games. I've been in several relationships and have *shock* had sex */shock* with many beautiful girls and I even run a gaming publication, but this 1980's stereotype still exists and it's so frustrating.
...that's all that has to be said.
Didn't Famitsu also gave Blue Dragon a near perfect 37/40. But SSBB is going to be great. I just wanted to point out how off Famitsu has been lately.
