Yeah, my initial impression first seeing the videos of the game was that it looked like EA's Ready to Rumble just years later and from reading this preview it seems it's still that way. Which is cool since I really enjoyed Ready to Rumble, even if it was a little shallow.

Religiously themed storylines have always fascinated me, whether they are overt or suggested.

There are quite a lot of games that deal with the issue, including Xenogears, FFX and Gabriel Knight as the article talked about.

Final Fantasies in general have had a lot of it, including Final Fantasy Tactics, which I loved. It was actually revolved heavily around the Church, which was especially appropriate given the period in which the game was set.

There ar...

A great piece on AI, and yes, we certainly do need more going on in this realm.

What I found interesting was the huge obstacle in creating realistic AI that adapted in real time to the demands of destructible environments and intensive physics calculations. It's got to a be a b**** to have something artificially controlled react to things happening in a game world that are dependent on the actions of the players and have thousands of possibilities for movement, shifting, and des...

I respect Dyack, but he really just needs to stop talking. Kind of like Michael Pachter.

By saying it's a awesome doesn't that kind of go against your statement of "neither." It's not "neither" then, it's a good idea.

I went through pretty much the same process as the author in regards to going from "what the hell, why?" to "actually this could be pretty awesome." I think it's fan service done right, and few series can pull it off and be praised for "returning to the roots" like Mega Man can. Plus, as the article said, this visual look matches the gameplay of the Mega Man series.

Seems like an interesting concept is the hardware works as advertised. I'm not a huge fan of emulators. Maybe because I already hate playing games on the PC but I feel more comfortable with a good old controller and a TV set across the room.

Thanks for the support and I'm glad you liked it. I only got 2 hours of sleep because of it (editing, uploading, etc).

Maybe the funniest thing I've read all day outside of Iwata's comment about selling millions of "bathroom scales" (balance board).

It's definitely not for everyone though as someone else said. I trust my writer's opinion, but personally having played it I don't fully agree. It's fairly average to me. Nothing much to write home about.

Apple would never become too serious about promoting the iPhone as a gaming platform only because it's a multipurpose media device and it would be unwise to try and position it as a gaming handheld.

If gaming on the iPhone became big - and it likely will become a fairly large market of its own - then it would be one more so as a byproduct of the capabilities of the platform itself and not necessarily because of Apple.

My argument about its thread to the PSP is in som...

You will be able to add any iPhone app to the iPod Touch (except any apps that make use of the phone funtionality, obviously) but I believe you need to pay $10 for a software upgrade. Though, if you buy a new iPod Touch after the launch of the App store, I would assume that new iPod Touches will have the new software already installed on it.

I've owned an iPhone since about October, and no the touch screen doesn't suck. I know there are people who have issues with the keyboard, but I type with two thumbs pretty easily.

As I pointed out in the article, iPhone developers are capable of creating touch enabled on-screen controls. Read:

The gaming potential of the iPhone/iPod Touch is also much greater than what some may think. While screen size would have to be compromised, the NES emulators available for hacked iPhones show that it's possible for developers to create on screen touch controls. This would allow game makers to add more complexity to games beyond the tilt mechanism known as the accele...

What I hated was that you automatically got a wanted level for driving drunk. A cop doesn't even have to spot you (or at least in my experience). Thought it is fun to stumble around trying to get a cab and occasionally busting your ass.

Moreso than more TV shows, just more episodes. More of the comedy acts, more of The Men's Room, and more of the Republican Space Rangers.

I was disappointed by the original to the point where I just have to wait for the final product.

What a way to try and save face. "Oh, well the HD format isn't really all that important anyway because digital downloads are the future. I mean, it's not like we invested in an HD format...really...we didn't, we were forced...by...them...RUN!" ;
