"If they go go with a subscription model, they should at least give the game away free or cheap. I've never like buy game/pay monthly models. "
That is what I was trying to say in my post. Subscription isn't a bad idea, just don't charge me for the game itself. Or if you do then 10 bucks for the game then add on 1 month of service. I believe that is fair.
I play with several gamers on Warframe and we all are looking forward to Destiny. A few of us won't pickup Final Fantasy XIV because of the subscription based model. We look at it this way...
I am paying a monthly subscription for a game and yet I still have to buy the game? I understand there are costs associated with printing discs but not 40 bucks worth (cost of FFXIV). Yes, I know you get a month free, so technically that is a cost of 25 bucks. The cost to mass p...
You are not lying about ISPs. Bandwidth caps are killer to cloud and digital only gaming.
Still though, I prefer physical discs and will continue to purchase them over digital downloads as long as I can. I am not really ready to give up my favorite hobby - gaming...
There is a large population of gamers that will follow right along with what you are saying.
And there are others like myself who will just give up gaming and move on to a more healthy hobby - like golf...
I for one prefer new IPs over constant remakes. I haven't bought a COD since COD Black Ops 2 - got tired of the yearly remakes.
I didn't buy BF4 because of all the issues. I am impatiently waiting for Destiny (new IP) and the division (new IP) just to name a few.
So Holiday 2015. How long before developers can fully implement this into the Xbox One games?
So you are now attacking Infamous SS since your other post about in the same article trading in your PS4 for the Xbox one isn't getting the hits you want?
Wow, just um... wow...
I am an older gamer and my ability to see the differences between 30 fps versus 60 fps is well not there. One does seem smoother I guess but it isn't a major issue for me. So better visuals over 60fps is fine for me.
That is total BS in my book. I know a couple of gamers with BF4 that is boycotting the game now. I would be pissed and asking for my money back from EA for this.
It is one thing to buy a game knowing there will be ads or product placements but to introduce them later like this is total BS.
So glad I didn't buy BF4 (been tempted), I will also be waiting a while before buying and EA game now just to make sure ads don't appear after the fact.

These are new consoles and they will get better/more streamlined code allowing for better resolutions and frame rates. There is no way to know if any console will get to 1080p/60fps for all games at this stage of the console.
The games on the Ps3/360 definitely got a lot better as the console aged. I can only believe the same will happen for the PS4/Xbox One.
I currently have data caps on the internet where I live, so a forced online only model that MS wanted would have not worked for me. Especially with games report 25+ GB per game. At 250GB per month and with kids, I wouldn't be able to get many games at all per month.
Until things change in my area, A digital only console manufactured by anybody will not work.
Nice hindsight there. The ads weren't there at the beginning of BF4, but since they are now. I certainly won't buy the game.
If the ads were day one then your comment would be more appropriate.
Is this on the PC only? Are these ads showing up on the consoles?
I believe they will announce either software based backwards compatibility with certain titles or more likely - their own Gakai/OnLive type of gaming service.
I would also like to know who these folks are. So far I only know of 1 person to have a issue with their launch PS4 and Sony is replacing it - his issue has nothing to do with a heating problem.
You will get disagrees but I happen to agree with your assessment. In Infinite - I only had to use my gun and bronco - nothing else. Finished the game basically with those 2 combinations.
In the previous games, I would setup traps using the guns and luring in Big Daddies or other enemies. I had a lot more options in the way I dealt with enemies.
As you said, Infinite is a really solid game but one that did fall short of expectations and hype in my opinio...
I am curious about your experience with the PS4 online and games.
What games have you played? What is the extent of your online interactions on the PS4? What about the Xbox One online offering makes it better than the PS4 online offerings?
Please elaborate...
I watched a gameplay preview video and the hosts said the Cloud will be used for both the PC and 360 versions (i.e. the dedicated gaming servers). They also stated that the Xbox One version willl use the cloud to help with the graphics processing.
*grabs popcorn*
*waits on the MS and Sony fanboys to fight it out*
Sorry, I meant to say that both FFXIV and Skyrim Online are both 15 a month.
yes, I have heard about the FFXIV "founders" club or whatever it is called that takes the monthly cost down to 13 a month.
