Do a quick google search about where viruses/mal-ware hide now. You will be disappointed to find that they are using Church web-sites, posting them in comments to force a redirect, using cross-scripting attacks....

If you believe you can only get them from porn or hack sites then you are already infected...

I have some confidence on that front though, as I've never heard anything but glowing praise and respect for the Azure platform, and this is from huge companies that have mission critical software running on it, with a lot more at stake than gameplay.

I am sure the Azure servers do get glowing praise. One thing you have to realize is that most likely these servers are processing jobs/tasks in the background. There are no &qu...

I totally agree - no PC gamer is just going to use the same PC for 8 years and not upgrade it. There will be games in the next 3 years that will push the PC they have spec'ed to force an upgrade.

There are the other items you have to deal with on a PC - firewall, anti-virus, malware, etc... That all takes time to keep configured and running. So far a console doesn't need any of that babysitting.

Please enlighten me on how much this low end PC costs that run those games better. Don't forget you have to include keyboard/mouse, HDMI cable and a operating system. The PS4 or Xbox 1 gives you all that for 399.

So tired of "PC master race" spouting off like this without ever providing proof that you can build a system and let alone never showing any gameplay footage.

You would think there would be examples of such a low end PC showing graph...

I do agree that there is no clear winner of E3 this year. If you are declaring a winner it is only because you are a fan of the first party games announced. All conferences were solid.

4273d ago 0 agree2 disagreeView comment

From what I have read and heard from my friends they all talk about how great the Microsoft show was compared to last year and Sony's wasn't that great.

You can't "judge" a winner based on last year. Microsoft had a disastrous last E3 and Sony (last year) had the message the gamers wanted.

Now back to this year, Microsoft show was a solid show and Sony had a solid show. I don't see how you can pick a winner this year based on the...

Really how do you decide a winner here?

Both conferences were nicely paced and had lots of games being shown and most of those games will be multi-plats...

So the "winner" would be the console of choice with the most exclusive content shown - but that is subjective to the person watching.

Can't we all say that we as the consumer won this time. Lots of great games coming for us to play.

I watched the Microsoft E3 show and I read that article above. I must be in the minority when I say that I wasn't all that impressed.

I am intrigued about Halo series being in one platform/game and Sunset Overdrive but the rest didn't really wow me (referring to MS Exclusives).

Not enough to run out and buy a Xbox. I will wait and see if those games really live up to the hype being displayed first.

I have been burned too many times ...

That doesn't have to be a MMO - but a massive world like that would certainly force me to get a Wii U - my kids go would nuts if they built it.

Here is a simple solution to see if DNS issues are causing a problem:

Use Namebench or DNS Benchmark (look them up).

These tools will use your connection (from a PC) and determine the best DNS server to be using. I have DSL and my providers DNS servers were 33% slower than Google DNS and 14% slower than Open DNS servers.

So I am now using Google DNS servers for my systems. Please check out those tools if you are having issues - it just migh...

LOL - afraid no, but just stating the obvious since I am not agreeing that the CLOUD is the best thing since the wheel was invented.

4282d ago 2 agree0 disagreeView comment

I will get a lot of disagrees for this comment, but ....

I do not like the idea of cloud. Every game that uses the cloud will have to be an online game. This is fine for obvious online games like Titanfall, but what about a single player offline only game?

Maybe I am reading too much into this but I am a fan of single player games like Fallout. If Fallout uses the Cloud then will nobody care that a definitely single player game like fallout will require th...

I hate to disagree since you are out of bubbles and can't answer but I have no choice.

Okay, since you are calling me out and saying I am guessing. I will fill you in on my position.

Yes, it is easy to do a packet trace on a network. I have several utilities I use at work. Wireshark is one of them. I also used to have a dedicated sniffer appliance in my old job.

If you ever did this you would know there is a lot of traffic on a networ...

And you know this because you are a developer? You read it somewhere but provided no links? You are just guessing? Or you have done packet tracing on your network and have determined the small packets of data related to the cloud processing versus all the other traffic?

Lets stick with the small amount of data. This doesn't put my mind at ease with the death of true offline only single player games. It also doesn't help my bandwidth cap issues. They are talking ...

All I read from all this is a disturbing trend by developers to use the "cloud" or online services. You do realize that any game that requires the cloud will be online only. My internet provider is going to love all this online usage for my gaming (since I have a cap and overage charges).

Where are all the true offline single player games?

If Microsoft does allow developers to take back the resources reserved for Kinect, then what happens to the consoles with Kinect?

Think about it this way - you can unplug your kinect for the game and get 900p 30 fps or stay with kinect plugged in for 792p 30 fps. As a possible example.

If it will really make a noticeable difference in games if the kinect resources are freed up, then doesn't that spell the end for kinect? Wouldn't you as a gamer remo...

In all honestly, all gamers should be thanking the competition that exists today. Losing either Microsoft, Sony, and/or Nintendo would greatly limit the gaming choices for consoles and then the pressure to make these types of changes would no longer exist.

Long Live Choice!

Quick glimpses from a trailer isn't enough to sell me. I am so burned out on the franchise (haven't purchased the last 3 installments).

My concern is about balance issues in the MP - did I see cloaking in the trailer?

I haven't read all the comments but I haven't seen anybody say this:

Sony's deal with Activision/Bungie for this game - could Sony have gotten the PS4 dev kits to Bungie before MS got the XBox one? This is (probably not the main) a reason why the PS4 is the lead platform.

From everything I have read - Sony really worked hard on the PS4 release to get games and publishers on board. Impressive actually coming from the PS3 release.
