Global PS3 lifetime sales had trailed the Xbox 360's global lifetime sales by an additional 3 million last year, and another 3.5 million or so in 2008. I don't know what the hell you call that, but that is indeed great progress and the PS3 is now trailing by about 2.9 million units.
