I highly doubt DX12 will do anything to improve the Xbox One's image - and henceforth sales - in the minds of anyone but the most hardcore Xbox Gamers.
The Playstation 4 is already where it needs to be to combat DX12; PS4 is already working with an API with low overhead which is the main thing DX12 improves. And it is also highly likely that DX12 will benefit PC more than Xbox One.

Great point and That point immediately came to me too when I read SpaceRanger's reply above. At least with SP games, you NEVER have to worry about losing access to your game when a company decides to realign their priorities and assets to other products and they shut down the servers, like you would with an online-only game.
Just imagine for a second if some of the NES classics from the 80's were online-only. Do you think today, their servers would still be active and...

I'm about finished with Demon's Souls (with about 82 hours of gameplay time) and I've been thinking about buying Dark Souls since its only $17 on Amazon. But at the same time I've been thinking about skipping the Dark Souls games and just getting into Bloodborne.
Can anyone whose played all four games tell me if it's worth just skipping ahead to Bloodborne?
