It looks to me like Infinity Ward got fragged by activision with the weapon called no royalties, and now they're respawning. (pun intended)

How does this news pertain to gaming? I could see if it was the 3D version but that's not out until june.

apple has a history of going after people with the smallest leak, they went after that one kid that started a rumor that steve jobs blood pressure was up (argue you may, but Steve Jobs has made apple what it is, like them or not he's a genuis when it comes to marketing things as seen how they were failing until they got him back after they fired him the first time)

They could have made false info, but I doubt giz would go about doing that seeing as how they have a reputation to ...

They paid $5000 for it.

Thing is whether they realize it or not this was huge in terms of marketing from the story from it, even my friends who don't like keeping up with everything in technology were really interested in it, and unless you're living under a e-rock you've probably heard about the iPhone/Giz saga.

I personally hate the term intellectual property as it basically tries to make you be able to own thoughts, sure they could probably sue him if he tried to ...

Murder is not a Joke, people seem to think that it is, they don't seem to take it seriously, but it's not a joke.

Slicing people up, blowing their heads off, planting C4, hitting somoene with a baseball bat, they all seem to be more acceptable in a videogame than a nipple. as foamy says and I present to you a question: would you rather be subjected to sex or violence? As in would you rather get shot in the head or give someone a blowjob? I'd rather give the blowjob but depending...

To my knowledge they didn't know it was stolen, from what I've heard it still hasn't been confirmed exactly how it got out.

Also the article on giz talks about the search in which they broke the door down and have offered to reimburse for it, a fine waste of tax payers money if you ask me since nothing there was hurting anyone and did not require immidete attention.

sounds to me like they realized him exploiting it, from my understanding he bought one and left for a little while (did not state hours days etc) bought another and left for a while and then came back and they realized he was trying to exploit the per customer limit.

I doubt this will have anything to do with the wii for now but looking good torwards the 3DS development from what we know.

first lesson in hacking 101 is anything can be hacked, rather right now it hasn't been hacked, it will be eventually, whether people want to admit i tor not.

I wouldn't say dead, the game boy and DS lived alongside eachother until the DSi came out. DSi < DSl

I think the title should be What PS3 Gamers Want, but won't likely get.

As anything can happen in the future. Though if Sony would announce full backwards compatibility I would buy a PS3 quickly, however in truth the PS2 is probably more profitable for them, I'd pay $20 or so if it's a software based thing such as a emulator.

"Developers will never port to linux besides a few isolated cases unless linux stops being a niche OS with a small userbase. Which, of course, will never happen."

I'm sure this was being said when apple owned most of the market instead of microsoft.

As far as performance goes theres no point in it really, most games on PC today don't push the hardware at all.

Not as costly as you see it, but hey it seems like I'm talking to a troll here or som...

Actually MW2 wasn't finished, Activision rushed them into finishing it early which caused a lot of bugs.

Correct, WINE isn't technichally a emulator but it still performs the same purpose of a emulator. But it still has to emulate the API's for the software, hence why I consider it a emulator.

@Dac2u

If you wait a few days ubuntu 10.4 will be out.

@Cueli

That depends on what distro you use and what you're doing, prettymuch all tasks your average user is going to be doing are simple. Support for hardware != ease of use, you can check that on s...

lol no, it won't humble activision unless they see a loss of profits from it, which they likely won't seeing as how most will go and buy the new CoD game regardless of this many without knowledge of it even happening.

"learn2spellWhine"

Oh god you don't know what you're talking about. WINE is a windows emulator that emulates windows applications, and porting the games to linux should be possible much like many games are ported from one console to antoher, I'd take a while but a program to do it should be possible, and then handed off to testers to test the port, also you probably don't realize programming for linux is far easier than programming on almost anything else.

Check the article about steam possibly coming to linux the other day, oh, yeah no games, the same dumb argument early 360 fanboys brought up.

lol at all the people who haven't used linux in this article.

Linux is far simpler than windows imo, I caught on to linux right away when I first used it a few months ago, it's not difficutl like people make it out to be.

Linux - Security through obscurity, this goes for macs but not linux, you have to have the password of the root user to do most things that would change what your computer does, and without that password you're not getting far.

Fanboys are stupid

fix'd

there are stupid people in anything, lets write a article about how linux users are stupid, mac users are stupid, and windows users are stupid.

I think it's fake, it'd be more believable had we not had a $5000 iPhone just before this.
