plus a lot of ds gamers are also older (geriatric older) people and girls who aren't as into piracy as your typical hardcore gamer ..
however it seems like flash cart are starting to hit the mainstream ds market hence the big deceleration in ds games sales in many of the new released titles - notably gta-ct and pokemon.

if i was a student, wasn't married or didn't have a job i would buy more rpg games. just don't have the time to play rpg anymore which is a shame for someone who used to play larn, moria and nethack. although i did play a bit of shiren on the old nds recently

the author is referring to both the older ps3 model and also the pre-jaspar xbox model. which explains the old games (gow 1 and nba 2k7) being tested.
both of the later ps3 and xbox 360 models use 30% less power
haven't got time to back it up so someone will need to search the original article for me to prove that the author is reusing old data that is obselete.

no reason why it shouldn't come out on the psp since the psp and the ps2 are so similar architecturely and there has been loads of gt games for the ps2 ..
the reason for it not coming out on the psp was political hence i do think will shouldn't dismiss this hiphop rumor
there are now 20 millions ps3 sold and 30 millions xbox sold i.e. they are both far from dead and have the userbase to be self sustaining for any developer...
they both have great games.. let's talk about games now.. console wars is getting a bit tiresome don't you think? computer games are the most important factor but many of this generation journalist seems to have forgotten this fact..

i actually prefer to read the companies press release then rely on someone else's interpretation or just assuming them to be true.. i think you are wrong to assume that reprinting a press release is lazy.. reprinting a press release (or linking to one) is regarded as the norm but let's agree to disagree..
don't know about you but N4G has been inundated with CONFIRMED pieces of news of late that have not actually been confirmed... hence the skepticism...
then print the release verbatim and post it on your website instead of making some comments and contradicting your own comments with links to official webpages that aren't up to date.. most news reporting agencies publish press releases. i have both bloomberg and reuters in front of me and they are continually streaming press releases from EA, Eidos, Sony etc etc
also you will actually find that a lot of companies do publish press releases on their homepage - if not in their new...
they did not provide any link to the actual press release they provided a link that gave complete the opposite information.

i have NO DOUBT this game is going to be multiplatform but why not just link directly to the offic...
with patapon 2 being umd free i pretty much expect a umd free psp being announced as early as e3. the only two other unknowns for me are:
1. will the psp2 have a second joystick
2. will it have phone functionality.
my heart says "yes please" but my head says "no".
if it wasn't for the stupid no-competition with jv sony-ericcsson rule i would have 100% expected a psp phone.

I have worked directly under the guys boss before you even touched a games console. for what it is worth i help moved their whole financial forecasting/analysis model to a web based business object framework. The world of gaming has moved on beyond brickbreaker. If you like brickbreaker then fair due to you but I for one have zero interest in paying inflated prices for cheap tacky casual games for which most of the time I can get for free online.
the latest psp aren't hackable yet. so in a way sony has already solved the problem. furthermore, as far as i am aware having a new firmware doesn't stop the use of pandora on older psp so a new fw won't necessarily solve the problem.
best to way to overcome piracy for older psp is make more games link online more often where more checks can be perform for custom fw e.g. trophies, multiplayer, dlc etc.
