Steampunk looks cool.
Ah, the trail of broken dreams. Tread lightly.
I'm leaning towards communication - Natal could change the way we talk to in-game characters.
I'm guessing there are other ways to get the keys, but this apparently guarantees a key.
They'll probably do shiny new version of CS in the Half Life 3 pack. I'm sure I read somewhere about the one of the original CS devs working on a new MP shooter that looked quite nice.
I have my doubts. Since SoT, the series has been a bit of a mess. Seems Ubi can't decide what it wants PoP to be - platformer, action-adventure, hack n' slash, or open world title.
The fact that FIFA always tops the software charts (in Europe at least) suggests otherwise.
I'm yet to play Gay Tony - it does seem like more of a return to the OTT gameplay of old GTA, which I like. You're right about GTA combat being traditionally terrible, though.
Agreed, good to see a dev committed to its products.
Amazing, isn't it? I'd be so pissed off...
The combat in GTA has always been ropey, though. It was better in GTA IV, sure, but that was largely down to the physics. The weapons themselves didn't feel particularly good and the cover system was bobbins.
Interesting comment about open world games being the "jack of all trades, master of none."
Hope they don't kill him off. Such a great character - that interview with Joe Kucan on the site is great too.
I love GTA IV, had a great time with it on release and put a lot of hours into the online modes. It's just, as I said earlier, it feels a little heavy and imprecise compared to some other third person games. But, I guess that's the price you pay for such a well-realised and detailed game world.
Yeah, really enjoyed the BC2 beta and that SP video that appeared last week... wow. Good looking game.
It's all about Heavy Rain and AvP for me. Really impressed by what I've seen of AvP, had my doubts about it initially. Game engine looks solid and seems to have that classic AvP atmosphere.
The cover system is enormously glitchy.
I went back to GTA IV recently after playing Saints Row 2 and it felt pretty sluggish. Can't help but think if Rockstar had managed to squeeze a few more fps out of the engine it would have been incredible. Here's hoping 2K can get Mafia II running well.
It is a bold claim, but Mafia still stands as one of the best open world games I've played.
God I miss CS_Italy. And Aztec. Would love to see a XBLA/PSN version of this.
