This is why his comment makes no sense. Complaining about the lack of games on a less than month old system yet his has been out for over a year and has barely anything to show for it except low sales, a couple Mario games, and a Zelda game that's 10+ years old. Totally awesome, huh?

You can make it work easily. There are patches out there and work arounds. Sure it's not ideal but at least you can still play the game. Can you play Xbox or 360 games on your X1? At least with a PC ANY PC game will work...maybe not right off the bat but it still works.
Oh I forgot about DOSBox that emulates a DOS environment and makes all the old school games run flawlessly. Basically your "point" is pointless.

Bioshock Infinite being voted "Best Shooter" AUTOMATICALLY makes this entire awards show a complete and utter joke.
UNLESS the people voting feel that the most generic, run of the mill FPS mechanics with some of the worse A.I. and uninspiring weapons somehow makes it the "Best Shooter" then I have NO idea how in the hell Infinite won this category. NO IDEA!

The problem is that next-gen is here. The hardware is vastly superior to the Wii U so games on the PS4 and X1 simply CAN'T be ported over...not just due to the Wii U's slower hardware but the fact that all next-gen engines are using DX11 ONLY (or OpenGL equivalent).

Quite sad really. Only good thing the game had going for it was the house itself (in it's layout and detail). Other than that it was like 2 hours long MAX and about some teenage lesbian runaway. Woo-hoo...
Really, REALLY, wasn't that good of a game in all ways possible. Game play was meh, story was meh, the premise of the game was misleading, etc.
But hey, at least Bioshock Infinite didn't win GOTY...that would have sucked haha!

I haven't played GTA V but did play The Last of Us and Bioshock Infinite and all I can say is that I'm glad GTA won instead of Infinite. Even though I voted for TLOU, GTA is still an AWESOME game and Infinite winning would have been a MAJOR let down.
I guess people realized how good Infinite WASN'T after the "OMFG SUPAR AMAZING!!!11!!" story settled down...
Even though this game is #1 on my list right now I was really hoping for more than a 2 minute video showing things that most, if not all, next-gen engines have.
Either way, can't wait to play it.
I enjoyed the game play and graphics but the fact that the game doesn't save while on a mission is a bitch. I couldn't play anymore after getting 80% done with a mission on the hardest difficulty only to have to start all the way over again because I wanted to play another game.

I can say though that The Division is realllly the only game I'm looking forward to so far. I've watched the damn E3 game play trailer I can't even tell you how many times.

Mantle will be a game changer on PC. Not only will it allow better access to the AMD desktop GPU's but will be a great improvement in performance over all.
As far as console API's go Microsoft might want to rethink things. The PS4 uses an direct to metal API...very VERY light weight.
The X1 on the other hand uses a stripped down version of the Direct X API with NO direct to metal coding.
So technically speaking Mantle is still better ...
