Like EVERY year when people like you say that lol.
On Cryengine, I don't think this game will be optimised properly for any platform. Crytek, the creators of the engine, were actually involved with the development of Homefront last year and it was still somehow an unoptimised mess.
Syndicate is great but was still built on the awful foundations and engine of Unity which is what still holds it back. It really did have amazing likeable characters throughout though. I hated EVERYBODY in Unity including the main character who somehow completely forgot his father was killed only a few years earlier.
I think just having a fresh NEXT GEN engine built from the ground up a second time after the first marketing parity engine disaster would be good enough. :)
Oh well. It was okay when The Witcher 3 ran with actual performance problems on PS4 (the console that can run Horizon Zero Dawn without a single issue since day one) for a whole 6 months until it was fixed conveniently after the marketing deal with Xbox just dried up. This is the console that also had around 25 million units sold by this point.
Oh sorry, ahem, NOW this is a tragedy. Won't someone think of the children (all ZERO that currently own a Scorpio).
The developer of the Mighty Nine made such bold claims too. You would have been stung back then if that was your attitude to a few empty claims.
GDDR5 has always been a big number of bandwidth this gen. We have already seen this with a lot of stunning PS4 exclusives, that is the only place to get this benefit with this architecture exclusively............ and there are still more stunning games on the way. :)
Parity? Won't the game run better on PC like always?
Who said Xbone can do Destiny 2 at 1080p 30fps?
So now it wasn't even a game worth trying?
We know, they exist a LOOONNNNNNG time now. Add Cuphead to that too. Clearly he meant they need to have something Xbox exclusive that is massive and brand new and not 3 years away or cancelled.
So show a CG trailer like they did with Scalebound, Recore and every other Halo game ever.
Nobody wants that Fox, bring on a new mediocre 343i Halo game yet again. :)
There has never been a game as highly anticipated as Halo 3 since its launch and that is including the 2 GTA games that came after it? Why? You need to have worked in games retail to understand. Its still shocking to this day the amount of people who preordered that game, some people when I asked them "oh so you are a big Halo fan?", the responses were practically like "no, I just have to preorder this game, apparently its the second coming".
The amount...
@Kribwalker Halo Ultimate Team was the best? Expect more of that coming your way then.
It launching by the end of next year will change nothing. How is showing off a game earlier killing the hype and polish of it? Then again, maybe they really are committed to waiting until the last 5 months before revealing games now.
@darthv72 Halo is always shown off with a CGI trailer followed by a release by Sep-Nov of the following year. There was never ever a need for it "ready to be shown" since it was never ingame footage.
@4Sh0w Again, how is too early going by pretty much the last decade of Halo releases??? It looks like it will be out the end of 2018 if they don't want to rush it, so a reveal at E3 2017 was a given.
So then its the PERFECT time for it to be shown as Halo...
Don't forget Detroit Become Human (as far as an interactive experiences go), Insomniac's Spider-man and Media Molecule's Dreams.
And it fell on the 21st May 2013 just over 4 years ago after the worse console reveal in history. That was the day Xbox Live suffered massive drop offs of subscription renewals over the next 12 months. Microsoft never gave us THOSE online figures though.
