Right, and while the 4 hour rentals could be extended to 1 day in my opinion. The prices are high compared to what? What rental service or game store allows you to rent a PS3 AND a game at PS Now's rates? Because that's what you're doing here. You're using their PS3 hardware AND their game for that price. The title is right, PS Now is not for you if you have a PS3. But what about those who don't? I think the prices are not far off for what you get.
That's decent, and the rental prices and times can use a little adjusting as well. But the main problem is most of us are looking at PS Now from the wrong perspective anyway. Most of us on N4G and other game sites are hardcore gamers and probably own a PS3 anyway.
The core audience of PS Now is not going to be PS3 owners. It's going to be the people that don't own a PS3 but own a PS4, Vita, PSTV or other PS Now capable device.
Think about the pe...
How outrageous can the prices be when you are giving someone a chance to play PS3 games and they don't even have to have a PS3?
Take me to the Redbox that's vending PS3s with the game disks for $1.99 per day and then you guys can claim "outrageous" prices. The prices just need a little adjusting.
Because they don't own a PS3 that's why. Ps now is about reach.
The people that are complaining have some valid points on price. But the complete value of what's being brought to the table is mostly lost as well.
let's not forget that we are playing games on their PS3 servers whether or not we own a PS3. You are using two consoles to play one game. This means that the value is in it for those who do not own a PS3 as their only other option is to buy a PS3 and buy or rent that game. Which would be immediately more expensive than P...
Okay, here's what people need to understand. PS Now is not like renting a game in the form of redbox or gamefly. You are not running the game on your PS4 (it can't) so it's more like renting a game plus the console to run it on.
Think of it like back in the day when you could rent the actual console plus the game from Blockbuster. Also keep in mind that GameStop, Redbox, Gamefly, or any other store or service can't do anything for you if you don't have a ...

What most need to realize is you are not running the game on your ps4. This means your essentially borrowing ps3 hardware to run that game. So stop comparing ps now to direct rental services in that sense.

I'm a PS fan and don't even own an Xbox but, Isn't that what AI is about? What exactly are they exposing? It's called ARTIFICIAL Intelligence, as in FAKE. The point is to make you FEEL like you're talking to a person, it's not like you're actually talking to a living being. Now if they are exposing that the tech is no where near as advanced as they say it is then that's a different story.
$1.99 options menu?
$0.99 control configurations?
$2.99 for ultra hard mode?
I remember a day once upon a time when you could own a FULL game without being rich.
Don't forget GT5p graphicly DESTROYS any racer on 360.
RSX 1.1 billion vertices per second (367 million polygons per second) using 8 dedicated vertex pipelines with all 24 pixel pipelines still available for pixel shading.
Xenos 1.5 billion vertices per second (500 million polygons per second) using all 48 unified pipelines for only vertex shading. Leaving 0 pipelines available for pixel shading.
What does this mean? This means in order for Xenos to beat RSX in vertex shading, you must sacrifice basically all of it...

If they use a single layer mini BD rom (just like they use a single layer mini DVD in UMD) that's the same physical size, they could fit 8.3GB of data instead of 1.5GB in that tiny space while still remaining backwards compatible.
38 comments......Hmm..... I guess most of us like to type with BOTH hands.
They could possibly be making the game a "free rome" style game like FF12 or KH1/2 but may be using a larger amount of space than DL DVD can provide. This would make a 360 release impractical as multiple disks do not work well with this type of game format.
People don't understand. You are renting the PS3 hardware AND the game for that price. Where else can you do that? Why would anyone who owns a PS3 complain about the prices of PS Now? That's like someone who owns a perfectly working PS3 complaining about the prices of renting a PS3 at Rent A Center. Don't use the service and go buy or rent your games elsewhere. For those of us who don't or no longer own a PS3 it's a great service compared to buying a PS3 just to rent ga...
