Microsoft gaming division can’t seriously hope to really compete with Sony if Xbox can’t attain as strong a GLOBAL presence as PlayStation.
PlayStation's worldwide appeal as a brand makes it VERY difficult/impossible to beat. Some people have trouble understanding this...On purpose.
That will be funny but PlayStation don't need to merge with Ninty to punch the MS gaming division in the face, after 77+billions spent between Bethesda and Activision they will still be last on market share. MS needs a lot, lot more to dethrone the PlayStation brand. Just keep watching how this gen unfolds, that's gonna be the real funny part.

Well according to the data below, PS fans around the world have bought more boxed games than digital so it's safe to assume that more ps5's with the disc version have been sold than the digital one. So the MORE EXPENSIVE ($499) console is selling more than the cheaper one. Keeping in mind both editions are nowhere to be found while the cheapest xbox edition is ready available online.

Yup, and because of that big fiasco MS had to fork out 1 billion but knowing them I think they're very proud of the 360, it's the only time a MS console reached 80mil+ sales, RROD played a big part of that and a record they will never break again.

Gamepass is 5 years old, and it hasn't turned any tables. They're still 3rd in market share, 3rd in console sales, 3rd in software sales and dead last in popularity around the planet.
But hey, there's always hope for the next gen...
