60 player squad based MP works in R2...I have tried it and it works with no lag....I can not wait till next tuesday...
Gears 2 can not compare because it is a third person shooter with only 5 enemies on the screen at one time...There are 30+ in R2...no other console game is doing this.
Wait till you actually play R2 to make your judgements... R2 rules...and is the best first person shooter on the market...even better than COD4....and we all know COD4 killed Halo 3.
Socom is not the only PS3 game...
Only sony can do 60 players online with no issues...just because the socom code was broke...and they rushed the game does not mean sony was bad...they had to get socom out before LBP and R2 and Gears 2 game out or it would have been lost in the crowd.
Killzone 2 will have no competition next year...
Its pretty smooth...You have to give sony some credit...they are trying to come up to microsofts level in less than 2 years. That is hard to do in the online space....at least Sony has google to help them out.
The 60 player online team death match I just played last week was lag free. This is not possible on any other console.
The online is flawless..no lag.....at least right now...they have had 3 updates and they have mix most of the server issues..

Sure it is not finished yet...but this is a beta...betas are not suppose to be the final project. There are a lot of good ideas in HOME...and it has come a long way. Nobody else is doing anything remotely like home. The way you can customize your avatar is second to none. The interactivity is awesome. The way you can move you avatar around and dance and talk. It is awesome.

Xbox live can barely handle 10 players in Gears 2 let alone the 60 plsyers without lag in R2..plus r2 is ob a 50 gb bluray with over 15 hours for the single player campain....60 hours for the 8 player online co-op without lag...
There are a lot of haters for this awesome game why is that? If this game was on the Wii you would not see the level of hate from certain groups I am not gonna name...

Get into the beta and find out for yourself...this game rocks. It is rock solid...there are no frame rate drops...its at least 30 FPS...but seems like 60 FPS to me...

Resistance 1 had at the time 40 player online with no lag. Show me a Xbox 360 game with 40 players online with no lag? Gears 1 was 8 players with some lag max...and a 5 hour single player mode...

There are at least 30 Chimera on the screen at a time...in addtion to your 8 player team in the campain mode. Add to this all the weapons fire and effects...and it is mind blowing! No other game is like this.
The textures are awesome too. The colors are killer. Orick California is suppose to be colorful it the woods people! All of america is colorful.
