That's a great deal.
I forgot about those. I can't believe how dedicated we were to our games back then. I remember having a paper covered in those codes, one wrong letter or number and ouch.
Don't know why you got downvotes. Not everyone has a switch yet, and anyone who jumps on board at any time is cool in my book. EDIT: oh, it's probably because there is already a metroid 2 remake on 3ds, but I assumed you meant an HD remake, which would be cool too.
Imagine how many people would bitch if Half-Life 3 was released as a non VR game and it didn't live up to expectations, because it didn't revolutionize as much as previous iterations. Or if a revolutionary HL3 was released as a VR exclusive right now while VR is still a niche market. People would bitch just as much if not more.
I think this is the perfect middle ground. The trailers for Half-Life Alyx make it look amazing, so I am excited.
Give it...

How would you rate it phoenixwing? 8/10? I'm just curious, because I too bought it for cheap, but haven't played it yet.
I personally loved Spore. Maybe it didn't live up to the hype for some people, but I played it a ton. No Man's Sky (imo) has recovered from it's launch disaster. The YouTube videos are pretty popular and as more updates come in, the game keeps getting better. This is an interesting read and for the most part I agree.
Man this article brings back memories. Guardian Legend was one of my favorite NES games. Remake GL in VR with an open world setting! Bayou Billy was pretty wild for the time--the light gun sequences were fun. I'm really surprised Blaster Master didn't make it on this list. And while not a nes title, Actraiser is worth an honorable mention.
I'm all for the idea of VR being a separate mode like Resident Evil 7 or No man's Sky. I think that would be the better option.
I think L4D could be cool in VR if the game implemented a controller like the PS Aim controller. In fact, the more I think about it, I don't see why L4D wouldn't work in VR. Sounds awesome to me.
Could you elaborate as to why you do not think it would work? I don't see why multiplayer would be a limiting factor. There are several multiplayer FPSs in VR already. Gary's Mod in VR would be dope!
PSVR is great. Although in a perfect world I would love to own one of the PC models too, but I just cannot afford it right now. But even if I could afford the Oculus or the Vive (someday soon), I would still play PSVR for the exclusives. Right now I'm loving No Man's Sky. And don't forget the PS Aim controller, which is awesome--I only wish more games implemented it.
I agree with your comment. My definition was an idea nothing more. I'm totally fine with people disagreeing. Perhaps my definition describes a geek more than a gamer. Although I stand by the platform agnostic part.
I was thinking in terms--I'll use an analogy--of a foodie. Someone who consumes a lot of food (but can't chop an onion or make an omelet) would not traditionally be considered a foodie. So, someone who plays a lot of games (but doesn't know of th...
My definition of a gamer for what it's worth--Must be at least open to if not downright interested in most genres of video games (not just games that shoot and stab). A gamer would have to be platform agnostic, meaning, it's about playing games and not about being loyal to a brand. And finally, passably knowledgeable about video game history, hardware (RAM, GPU's, etc) and current news.
I have time for this
I don't mind an easy game as long as it's fun. And I like charming games with a cool atmosphere, so it might be up my alley. I might wait for a sale as well.
Sounds cool. I'll have to check it out.
Half-life 3 not confirmed
I'm not much interested in Stadia at the moment, but hasn't Amazon Prime been selling movies that you can only stream for years? My point is a precedent for this model has already been established. Just playing devil's advocate.
I loved Elite Force.
@PhoenixUp, I'm responding to your second comment--actually just adding to it, because I agree with everything you said. When people say the PS3 was overpriced in the beginning, they are forgetting some important facts. PS3 was wirless out of the box. The PS3 didn't require a paid subscription for online at the time, so even if the Xbox 360 was cheaper out of the box, the price after owning it for years (assuming you were playing online) and purchasing a wi-fi adaptor could have excee...
