2k is not 1440p... This is somehow a very common mistake.
2k/4k/8k is a reference to the approximate number of horizontal pixels, 4k is 3840 pixels, 2k is half that 1920, and yes, that is the width of a 1080p resolution.

I also believe that before we go full streaming console we will see a hybrid form. Think of something very Unix-y, XWindows, those GUI applications can run remotely, the code is executed on the server, but any and all GUI calls are sent to the client and executed there so you have a local performing UI.
If the APIs MS and Sony (and Google perhaps) create and use are made in such a way that they allow for such things rather transparently then the games are still run on serve...

There were women during WW1 and WW2, not in the amount you will see in BF V but why care suddenly about historical accuracy when you don't give a damn about it when it comes to weaponry? I said the Xbox division not MS as a whole. Besides the person I replied to was fantasising and said anyone can win, meaning anything can happen, I can become so freakishly rich that I might be able to buy MS AND Sony for all you know :)
Also, Sony's net worth is estimated at $40.5 billion, I don't see MS dropping that to just buy out a console competitor...
But Kickstarter is not a pre-order. You're not actually buying something, you're investing in the project and as a reward you will receive the finished product when it's done...
