I'm confused by the control "beef". I loved RE4 (still play it on occasion) and RE5 controls almost identically. Playing the PS3 demo, the controls felt familiar and in turn, I really enjoyed it. That's not to say I wouldn't have loved to see SOME progression in the controls and enemies, but I'm happy as hell it didn't turn into Gears of Wars. IMO, it seems like 360 owners are the majority really complaining. Any PS3 owners hate the controls or lack of run and gun? I'm curious.
I think some of it stems from what the writer plays. If you like a particular genre, you will play it. You will get burnt out. You will ask "Originality, where art thou?". However, for those of us that mix it up as much as possible, Ico, Shadow of the Colossus, Braid, Flow, Katamari, Mirror's Edge, Okami, Valkyria Chronicles, N+, PJ Eden and upcoming titles like Heavy Rain and Nobi Nobi Boy and Flower show originality hasn't gone anywhere.
SEGA should think about returning to its FULL 2D roots and stop sodomizing an icon that could have been up there with Mario. Hell, just re-release Sonic Adventure on PSN/XBL and I'd be happy. I used to love Sonic games and it's sad that I have to say "used to".
That's what trailers are for, to make judgments about something without knowing the full story, because they don't give you the full story. It's all how you present it.

I think it's the 5 paragraphs before the final ass kissing one that people take issue with. From length, to lag, to having to change the control scheme, the "disappointments" are, in fact, lame. You should try reading it before pulling the LAST paragraph out to try and use as a rebuttal. And if he wasn't disappointed, he picked a strange title for the story to convey it.
It's garbage. I've played it 30 times at it keeps getting worse. Shooting helmets off the enemy and watching the death animations? Lame. Blowing up that bridge? Lame. I think it really just breaks down to gamers and non-gamers. Gamers (and/or RE fans) don't see it racists in anyway. BUT, there are some that could see it as racist and do have a legitimate concern. Didn't MGS4 reach over 4 million global sales? Regardless, I don't see MGS4, MGS4: Substitute or any other MGS4 title on the 360. However, if does, it won't be until the PS3 version is a greatest hit.
