Really enjoyed this article. I've been afraid of the brown recluse spider since a SModcast years ago when Kevin Smith discovered it's existence and went on at length about how horrible it was. Really interesting parallel for games.
Man, I should go back and play RE4 again. I completely forgot about that guy. It's really awesome when something in a game works out like a scene in a movie. It really gets your adrenaline pumping when you get by on the skin of your teeth, but if just a hair more ends up killing you it can completely destroy that feeling of badassery you'd built up.
Ever play the Last Stand games on Kongregate? I thought those were entertaining enough time killers.
I don't think I could handle a game like the Dead Rising games nowadays, what with work and the kid. If I had a 360, this might be a good investment just to give me the experience without it being so long.
Interesting article. To me, the real threat is the recent trend of Facebook games and all of those other games that the gas station sells cards for. They seem to break games down to the very essence of addiction and use that to slowly urge people into giving them more and more money. If all games headed in that direction it'd be awful, but I don't think most developers will. I mean, I don't think many of the people that make those games are passionate about games. As long as we ha...
Hah, that's the joke. You listen to the episode?
I just love that they're still trying to make wii exclusive games. Gotta love that determination, because if they succeed it could be awesome.
Love these features. It's always fun to read what happened a long time ago on the day that I am currently living through.
"The sillier you look the more fun you're having." said no one.
An afternoon? Dude, ImmorTall takes like 3 minutes to beat. Just go do it now.
Deathchats are much more interesting than deathmatches.
Some podcast chats on it made me slightly intrigued but I was only half paying attention. I guess the reviews cement my decision.
Still love these features. Thanks for slogging through that mass of games for people.
I don't know, I need long breaks in between Pokemon games. I played Red obsessively when I was younger, and then remained Pokemon-less until I bought Pearl. Even then, I played over 100 hours but was so obsessive about catching everything and leveling everything that I eventually burned out before I even beat the story and stopped playing it. I don't think I'm ready to jump back into a new Pokemon.
This almost makes me want to become a Disney nerd. If I was one, I would be ecstatic about the fact that they seem to care about making awesome games now.
We're all suckers for nostalgia. At least having interesting twists on the classics games gives us a bit of a reason to rebuy all of these old games besides just our love.
Mmmmm, Star Fox 64 in 3D. I'm a sucker.
Wish this was on PSN.
Dammit, need more games on PSN!
I might check these games out, but probably when they're really cheap. Mostly just because I'm poor, but I think they're perceived quality would improve the less you paid.
Zombies, zombies, zombies. Always zombies!
