For some reason I love torturing myself with video games, but I've only played VVVVVV from this list. I'll have to check out the others.
Hahaha, wait until they find out that Tofu Boy is extremely gimped and can't even jump high enough to beat the first level.
Hah, kinda disturbing to watch them all line up and then get mowed down.
Great read that raises an interesting question.
I'm the same way. I guess the simplicity removes all question of who is at fault, and when you finally beat a level it is a billion times better feeling than a normal game. You should pick up VVVVVV on Steam. It'd be right up your alley.
No Mega Man Soccer? My friend and I used to play that a lot, despite how awful it is.
That picture makes me giggle, mostly because I imagine the...yak?, is an internet troll.
I think the same is true with all forms of media. Knowing about an obscure band or movie makes you feel closer and want to champion it to your friends. That might be one of the reasons why I liked Saboteur as much as I did, despite it's flaws.
I love analyzing something I liked beyond belief, so this podcast is perfect for me.
I always just stroll into my local Meijer store (like Walmart for the midwest) several hours after sales started and pick up the cheap games I want. No lines or trampling necessary, though I don't get everything I would buy if I wanted to fight the crowds.
I don't get the grow a 1up mushroom. It's just a plastic mushroom in some dirt? I'll buy one when through crazy science they manage to allow you to grow a real 1up mushroom.
Ouch! Kinect accidents could be a LOT more painful than Wii ones ever were. Friends don't let friends drink and Kinect!
Wait, so the console version is actually alright this time? Awesome! My wife keeps asking me to get her Sims 3 but I don't want that beast on the laptop, slowing everything down and dooming me to a future of endless expansions. I'll have to pick up the PS3 version for her for Christmas.
Eh, it's an interesting idea. I'm mostly looking forward to the next generation of the idea.
The opening might be the most important part to sucking players into the game.
I love short games nowadays. I have so little time to actually get to games with the kid running around so the shorter, the better.
Excellent article! The intro really drew me in, and then you circled back around at the end. I think you have a great point as well, though, I haven't played the game.
Somehow I've completely ignored what Folding@home is since I didn't have a PS3 until recently. I'll have to get that going. I'd love to participate in Movember but the mustache is the only part of my facial hair that doesn't grow. It's so sad compared to my lazy beard.
If blurays become the standard for all systems developers could probably include voice acting, or maybe even whole cutscenes so that lips match up, in multiple languages on the disc. Would we finally have a world free of region exclusive games then? Man, that'd be nice. And actually, I think we get a lot more games over here nowadays that might have been Japan only in the past, though, that's probably because the Internet helps build a possible fanbase even before it's released.
Sounds interesting.
