How can anyone seriously claim that a company that dominates in so many markets is drifting into insignificance? More likely the writer is drifting into insignificance and needs a ratings boost.
What's next? Maybe Apple or Sony or Google ... all becoming irrelevant!
Most of Sony's exclusives this year are follow ups. They have been known about for many months, well before Christmas. And yet still Sony saw a fall in console sales over this Christmas from last year.
Unlike this time last year, when the PS3 had a growing momentum, this year it has a shrinking momentum. Good exclusives may not be enough to reverse this trend.
We will soon see with the release of this month's games. If the PS3 does not see a sign...

Playstation fans are SO sensitive. Any article, even a rumour or hint that Sony does not own the entire world in everything that it does has them hissing like cobras.

Good worldwide number, but poor US numbers. Guess we just don't like the Sony machine in America.
Well done Rare and Harmonix. Both are excellent games. Don't pay any attention to the hurt Sony fans. They are still reeling from the fact that Gran Tourismo 5 did not make the top 10 best selling games of 2010.
But then that's the magic of the PS3 for you!
Sony has everything... Blu-ray, Cell processor, AAA exclusives, solid hardware, ultra-precise Move controller, etc.
And yet they STILL cannot outsell MS! Maybe Sony doesn't have everything after all??
Congrats to Microsoft! A lot of companies would love to have won the award - but they didn't.
Kinect is innovative in so many ways, in the same way that the haters are innovative with all the different ways that they hate.
Looks like all those B-grade exclusives are not making a blind bit of difference to sales of PS3. Maybe sock-boy can do it for them at the end of Jan?

The november and december sales figures for the US certainly show that Sony's menagerie of exclusives is winning people over. That's why Sony is leading the hardware sales list each week ... isn't it?
I'm selling packets of 'Final Fantasy: These sales figures are not true' for PS3 fanboys. It's guaranteed to take away the pain of being in third place for 4 very long years.
Poor Sony fanboys hate this stuff. How can it be that anything to do with MS can be so successful?? Still in last place in the 5th year, and all they have are a handful of B-grade games to look forward to.
