seriously, we need a solid tenchu reboot. assassin's creed could do ninja if they wanted to.
Very excited about this.
i wouldn't say boring. there was a palpable sense of oppression that i think sucked much of the "excitement" out of it for a lot of people, but i thought that helped it seem more extreme. the world was an ugly, brutal, depressing place.
i have a 5.1 surround, a little old, but in a large living room with the speakers spread out at all corners it sounds amazing, from the bombast of bf3 to the soft strains of Limbo.
yeah, the more complex the morality of the choice, the more you can emotionally invest yourself in it. that's one of the key concepts in immersion.
super psyched for this, far cry 2 was immersive as hell
blood omen 2 was really a remake of chakan before it was converted to a LoK game. blood omen 1 i actually still have that, i might have to start a new game.
it's still up to your speakers though. this is a good article, could have been more in depth.
Maybe he means being able to take 60+ rounds in the chest is a talent? That could be true I guess.
am i the only one unhappy with the way it ended? max payne doesn't get to walk off into the sunset, he gets sh*t on. that's his lot in life.
is there a confirmed ps3 date yet?
i remember buying this, trying it for about 30min, and then putting it away for 6mos. Then I got bored and picked it up again...and it consumed my life for an entire year. I'm pretty sure I failed college because of Elder Scrolls. FML
Laaaaaaaaaaaame. They need someone to rewrite their copy, it's too clunky.
I've actually started new characters to take advantage of each faction.
The Elder Scrolls has always been one of those series where you get back what you put into it. It's all about the experience and their dlc's have always continued in this vein, giving you a new land to explore, new characters to meet, new ways to play. It's one of the things gs that sets it apart from other games. Having logged hundreds of hours with multiple characters in Skyrim alone, this is a no brainer first day purchase for me.
This is a solid game, in the sense that's it's all about unchecked rage. When you're that angry you don't want tactical gameplay, you want to jump off a 40 story skyscraper, punch a man to pieces, scream a little bit, karate kick a helicopter out of the damn sky, tear a minigun off a tank, destroy said tank, and then jump back up to the top of the building. Who wouldn't enjoy that kind of power fantasy?
It really was perfect, just the right amount of control to where you COULD screw up or you could tear through the city like a coked up bat out of hell.
As a HUGE fan of this series it worries me to admit that some of the gameplay changes give me pause. The "instinct" mechanic in particular feels like an addition just for the sake of adding something. As long as it retains the open level/multiple solution design of the previous games though, it will still be a definite purchase.
Until they bring back the web swinging from Spider-Man 2 I don't think I'll be playing any of these games. It's a core mechanic, which makes it mind boggling to discard something that nearly everyone agrees was absolutely perfect.
What was up with the weird punctuation in this article? Ellipses everywhere.
