Id prefer that this be free, not because i dont wanna pay for it but out of fear that this splits the community or breaks the balance. Look at killzone2 before the value pack mappack, it split up the community a bit, after awhile it was hard to find games with new maps, at least when i played. Its a bit better now though

What are you talking about? Splinter Cell is still exclusive to the 360 isnt it?
Edit: Ah ok, perhaps he should have mentioned that or worded it better, he made it sound as if it had lost its exclusivity, one could say the same thing about Uncharted 2 " who cares, Pc or 360 owners get to play both"

I think you shouldn't doubt the selling power of a Halo game, even if it is just an huge expansion pack to some, lots of Halo owners will get it. You are right though, its not a system seller nearly as much as halo was due tot he fact that most people who wanted their halo fix have a 360 now, but the sales for ODST will be fantastic unless bungie really dropped the ball with the game, and lets be honest, thats not gonna happen

i think that moms and grandmothers look more at a Wii when it comes to buying a game system for the families since they can get involved and its still somewhat of a media darling ( at least on news stations ), i really dislike the wii but that much is true. And even though i dislike it, even i have to admit that wii sport resort has crazy, massive selling potential, and its fun as hell to boot
Phase out the arcade units, make the pro the default at $199, profit.
So with the pro gone, what skus are left? the elite and the arcade? then again, i guess that would force some to see the value in a elite over an arcade unit. But its still a dumb decision, just my 2 cents though.
I know one thing, if they were to do what i said, id be all over buying a 360 at $199 if it came with a harddrive to compliment my ps3

you dont think Microsoft caught wind of all the price drop/ slim rumors and acted accordingly? we all know sony news can't be held secret till its announced, im sure MS planned this knowing the ps3 price drop was coming.

who said sony had to redesign it to get the price down? last i checked, that price drop is in affect as of now for the older models as well. Plus i find it funny how you make it sounds as if its a bad thing to redesign it, especially since it uses 30 (estimated)% less energy, if you pay your own bills and electricity is one of those, that would be a good thing.

As a fan of either of these companies, i'd want something really good announced at these events, not just one game, unless its something huge like Halo. Even if you didn't care about this event, if MS planned to show something, why wouldnt you want it to be some good?
All im saying is something to go along with the Fable 3 announcement would have been swell. Something other than Lionhead anouncements
