Games haven't become cheaper to develop, they're are getting more and more expensive as graphical fidelity not only takes time and effort, but its also a must have if you want a consumer to buy your product.
So in 20 years time, would you still expect to pay £50 for a game? That's not how inflation works.
Do you think people outside of the US care about what's trending on twitter? Lol. Such a bubble.
Imagine if MS didn't have decent BC? People would next to nothing to play on their newly purchased next gen console.
This BC en-devour by MS has been out of pure necessity.
Throwing money around and buying success isn't a move that deserves credit like it has been.
Building successful studios and games over years like Sony does deserves more credit.
Sony as a publisher are single handly moving the games industry on. It's been like that since the PS2.
I remember when the XboxOne sold out, and the hype was still around at launch, but then the dust settled and Mr.Reality had his way.
The Japanese will only buy quality products, they see through all the marketing for what it is.
For instance they will buy German cars over American ones 99% of the time.
The Xbox One sold poorly in Japan (and Germany for instance) because it was a massively inferior product, contrary to what MS lead us to believe at launch.

You can't even login to check your details without being out into a 1hr queuing system, I've got no chance tomorrow morning.
Kind of off-topic but did you know Bethesda has an average Metacritic of 73%. Its not bad, but its not good either:

Maybe someone could do an opinion piece of whether they think the acquisition was a good one?
In the film industry, all the top film companies do not make Netflix exclusives, they release their product to the free market and that is where the money is, if your product is good. After a few years and the sales dip, that is when they sell their product to Netlfix and Amazon Prime.
This is exactly what is or will happen with any game streaming service, any enterprising developer or publisher know they can make more from physical/digital sales before throwing in onto Gam...
What I don't get about gamepass is:
If I was an MD at a top AAA developer, why would I choose my product to be released on gamepass day one instead of going to market across physical and digital traditional stores? The main money is to be made in sales, not from MS giving you a quantified 'cut'.
i guess this is what you call inflation, how long have we been paying £40-50 for a game for? I remeber PS2 games being around that price.
You're talking like £5 to them though.
Personally i need to know if the PS5 will include an Optical Out on the back of the console, or its looks like ive got to buy a new £600 soundbar. Its a small thing, that may be costly for many.
Is this a joke article? People are excited to play a Tetris game on a (supposedly) next-gen system?
Bleak at best and most of those games are 3rd party. I've never ever seen someone boast about a Tetris game at launch before. Interesting...very interesting.
Flipping between games....ah the Netflix generation is being catered for again.
