Ye and in this case Sony has an advantage if they choose to go with another version of the CELL. If I understand correctly, the CELL-processor has an advantage when it comes to parallelization due to its architecture.
And I do think Sony is going to use an improved version of the CELL in the ps4. They have bought a manufacturing factory and it would greatly reduce the cost of the processor in their next-gen console.
Microsoft is taking a huge risk focusing at the casuals the way they do. I'm not saying they shouldn't but with products like Ipad, XperiaPlay and other cellphones and PC's, they might be aiming for an audience that is content with those said products. The Wii was a success because it was something new that you couldn't find anywhere at the time.
And they don't take into account that this time every year is usually slow, sales-wise. :)
Well I have never played a Ratchet & Clank game so I am gonna try it :)
It is pronounced Veeta :) Can't remember where I read that though :P
Well Europeans can choose Ratchet & Clank: Quest for Booty instead of Superstardust :)
Good read though^^
I am planning on getting inFamous and Ratchet & Clank ^^
I dunno if this is possible on this generation of kinect, but would be cool with a dance-game where Kinect could recognize what dance you are doing and judge you by it. Pretty much like Singstar, but with dancing instead. That would be awesome. Different career modes like "Samba-career" or "Waltz-career". Although that is unlikely to happen due to the fact that you would need a very large room :P
I am crossing my fingers for a 2014 release. I want it to be as powerful as possible ^^ I think the earliest is late 2013 :)
The first thing I thought when reading the title was: "Complete failure"? A bit fanboyish of me. But I hope those who enjoy Kinect get a lot of stuff they like :)
YES PLEASE!!!
Well its obvious why its a paid feature :P It will generate a shitload of cash for Activision. And their main focus is profit so :P
I always looked :D My family had a tradition of starting Christmas with a present-hunt ^^ Although my parents NEVER gave me anything computer or video-game related. They we outdoor-people who considered it blasphemy to be indoors if the sun was shining. I wished for a Gameboy color for years back in the days, and finally stopped since I never got one, then the year after they gave it to me, but got only one game. They never gave me any games for it, and when I bought a game to it, or any othe...
About your comment below (couldn't reply directly to it). I believe so as well. Activision seems to focused on profit, although the purpose of a company is profit. However, it has given them a bad image among gamers, which can, in the end, cause a lot more damage, than longer and more quality development.
You didn't read the article did you :P?
It is not about an "opinion". It is about a legal battle about the rights to the franchise itself. If Jason and Vince would win this case, then they could deny Activision, and every other developer out there, access to the franchise. They most likely won't do that, but if they win, Activision will never publish another Call of Duty ever again.
@Kee: Well it most likely won't be settled before MW3 ...
They most likely won't use a "conventional" CPU+GPU because of piracy. There is a reason to why the ps3 was the last console to be hacked, and they constantly find ways to block said hacks. The CELL-processor plays a part in that.
I wouldn't be surprised if Vita is the name of the social platform for the NGP. Like Home is on ps3. Maybe not exactly like that, but still a social platform. Then "Vita" makes a lot more sense :)
Umm, hard to say if this really looks as good as we think. It looks great obviously, but when it comes to graphics, you can't judge it by looking at something from a distance. Most of those shots are like that.
Things like this is why I want next-gen consoles! They will be able to have much more of non-scripted destruction and other features that takes a lot of power :) Destructibility is an "expensive" feature.
I actually thought it was a little lame. It doesn't look like a huge improvement. One thing that I can't wait til we have, is REAL ground-vegetation like grass, flowers etc. And REAL trees. It will take a huge leap in graphical power to achieve this (Anyone who has played around with lets say SpeedTree and UDK would know how much power it takes to generate a lot of trees and the wind etc).
Imagine how it will look on PC :D
