The answers are they are not making games but rather running business and making as much profit as possible. Including expanding their company at the same time trying to appeal the western gamers.
They have forgotten their roots. The passion of making better games should have come first then profit/money second. If their games are good, it'll sell no matter what, but instead they focus on profit/money first.

I didn't even finish X-2 and FF12. FFX has great story and should have ended it there. X-2 made X looks bad.
As for FF12 I just got lost in the storyline, I don't even know why Van was there. He has no business there nor connection with other characters.
