Sounds like Microsoft is just going for a PC/Console Hybrid. Basically a Steam box. I seriously doubt their will be multiple skus for the full box. It'll probably just be modular components you can plug and play and get additional performance you know like you can currently do with PCs?!!

Sure if they were winning they'd announce sales, but console sales still aren't a great metric for overall profit. The money is in Live subscribers, game sales and software licensing.
