Look, what I am saying is this, if you have a console be it a 360 or ps3 that is capable of producing images at 1080p resolution you will want a 1080p panel. Quite simple really.
Both can be set to SD or HD for GAMING but with the choice MOST will want 1080p. So again, I do not agree with what you are saying. Your comment suggests that 360 owners would somehow be satisfied with an SD resolution,
where as PS3 owners would naturally choose HD. I call bullsh1t.
What has made you come to the conclusion that "most x360 owners still play on SD TV"
Why would the ratio not be the same on PS3? Yes early gen 360 did'nt have HDMI but it did have 720p via component. and considering that 1080p panels were not available at this time, IF gamers wanted HD they would have had a 720p panel which was the best available at the time, which last time I checked is still HD.

The PS3 and 360 are just too different to be comparing graphics in a head-on competition. Its just plain bullying.
It really is a no brainer which console is more powerful.
But gaming isnt just about graphics, is it?
With this generation there has been an explosion of features on consoles. Online, Friends, Downloadable content, Media streaming etc. Gone are the days of 'switch on console with cartridge or disc inserted, start playing, The End.'

I work hard and play hard, I own all 3 consoles and both the PSP and DS. Mummy n Daddy dont pay for sh1t, seeing as im over 30yrs old. I am educated and rich enough to make my own decisions. Im a gamer through n through. The 360 experience is sublime and I dont hold a chip on my shoulder for having to pay for it. My Ps3 game wise is rocking but the online integration is lacking when held up against the 360.

As some have said above and in the article, there are just too many differences in the two to make such a claim.
My PS3 is rockin now thanks to the software finally living up to the claims that sony made oh so many years ago.
My 360 has been spanking the monkey since launch!A whole year earlier than the PS3.

but if MS did pull such a move I would deffo be pissed!
If MS have chosen to add all these features to my 360 then thats great but if they turn around and start charging me extra for features that I havent asked for then they can go fish.
On the other hand, if they are just trying to broaden the experience for us by using the revenue gained from existing subscription charges and the price does indeed stay the same then GO MS!!!
