In a week or two, Sony will release a new FW update disabling these devices and rendering them useless.
If they could "care less" about the older models, then why are they still releasing security-based firmware updates for it? Sony has the same amount of control over ALL the models of PS3s. Stop spewing this crap and do some research before you post.
...or they could just disable the developer debug mode on ALL consumer PS3s...
...And then Google hacked China...
I remember those! Good ol' DOS games!
The 360 has had pirating on it for the longest time yet developers did not stop porting for it and it's not dead yet.
I honestly don't think this is hardware based. I think they have some sort of Sony diagnostic file on the stick and the power+eject button is how you activate it. The red and green lights are probably for read/write. I wouldn't doubt a program coming out soon which allows you to flash your USB drive to become one of these.
That's probably true, but if you have a decent job with some kind of steady income, you should be able to purchase a couple of games for yourself.
If this turns out to be real and working, I may buy one when they start porting emulators to the PS3.
...
I can almost guarantee that Sony has some idea on how this works by now and they are making a patch for the next update. Also, Sony's servers will be checking your PS3s version when you connect to PSN, instead of the PS3 checking itself. That way, the "disable force update" feature of this stick is useless.
@Sony360: Newtype is right. Hacking a 360 is as common as jailbreaking an iDevice. PS3s, on the other hand, have not been fully hacked yet and there's no real way to play pirated PS3 games on it.
Haha BeastMode
I know many people who bought the 360 JUST so they could pirate games.
The Eye can do pretty much anything the Kinect can do except for 3D depth simply because it only has 1 camera. The facial/voice recognition, the body tracking, etc. are all SOFTWARE features that can be programmed into ANY Eye game.
Because the demos that devs usually put up are the ones that were used at previous events like E3. These versions are like their beta versions.
Seriously, are you 6?
@SeNiLe911: But in theory the Kinect should work while sitting down as well...
People don't understand that you can't just simply copy the game's code on to another platform and expect it to work. The PS3 and 360 are COMPLETELY different, even though they may seem the same by their performance. Their internals are structured in different ways. To port a game, you must fully understand the hardware, and my guess is that porting from 360 to PS3 requires full rewrites of certain parts of the game. Yes, it's bad that once again the PS3 gets the shitty port, ...
Sloth from the Goonies! You made me lol!
