No Kojima! You're supposed to make something innovative and not generic with your newfound freedom!
Eagerly anticipating this. I really want to play that game again, but I bet if I play my old copy, the remaster will get announced when I finish it or something, and I wouldn't want to play it all over again. Can't wait much longer though!
So far those steamdb leaks from last December have all come true. Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, Danganronpa 1 & 2, Final Fantasy VI, Stranger of Sword City, Code of Princess, Guilty Gear Xrd -Sign-, and now Final Fantasy X | X-2 HD Remaster - they're all on or are confirmed to be coming to Steam.
Yet to see Steins;Gate, Phantom Brave, Ray Gigant, Earth Defense Force 4.1: The Shadow of New Despair, and *gulp* Half Life 3, all of which were on the list. It seem...
@nitus10: There's no real substance to arguments like this: "It's all well and good doing independent studies on the effects of a particular item or thing on the human body or psyche but we all know or should know that people abuse the recommended usage be it drugs or even gaming." I don't know what you're trying to imply. Don't bother studying the effects? It could mean the difference between VR taking off or not. If all the games made for it make people ill, VR...
99% of people don't? Not a real statistic. I'm willing to bet a lot more than 1% would / do experience adverse symptoms playing VR. I'd say the number is far from negligible.
I'm not bothered with VR for a few reasons:
1. Most of the games in the works or currently available are short experiences simply because prolonged use of the headset is just a bit too intense.
2. Too expensive. It's a peripheral, not a console. Combined with 1, I feel like it would be a waste of money.
3. My eyes start to burn if I play HD stuff too much, and I get headaches when I watch 3D films or play games in 3D. I don'...
Guess not. For now anyway.
Yesss! At long last! This is great news. I hope they remake / localize The 25th Ward too.
Looking forward to this game. Been following it on greenlight for a long time now. Love the setting and the visuals.
My thoughts exactly. The field exploration and UI look they rolled right off the smartphone RPG assembly line - pretty much the same as every smartphone money generator RPG ever.. This is not the right way to test if people still care about Valkyrie Profile. If people don't buy this, it's not because they don't like and want more VP, it's because the game is mostly a slightly above average smartphone RPG. Very disappointed, especially as I was one of the few who was expecting ...
That UI... It looks like every churned out, garbage f2p mmo released for smartphones ever. They say the UI is temporary, but that doesn't mean the systems that it represents are temporary. Furthermore, I'd say the only difference between this and the final UI will be that the latter will look a bit more ornate - just pleasant window dressing on the same formula. I never played XI because I don't play MMOs, but I have a feeling this reboot will be a big f you to fans of the origina...
I've played all of them and I don't own a ps4. This is mainly because loads of ps4 games I want are / are probably coming to pc with the exception of this and Kingdom Hearts III. I'm not buying a ps4 for 2 games. And now with the likely more expensive ps4k coming out it's even less likely. Maybe when more games I want come out and when the ps4k is cheap I'll buy them, but for now I'll just wait and hope they come to pc .
I definitely saw a video of a guy playing a horror game in VR, and by the end of it he was in tears. There's definitely a point at which it stops being entertaining, and the only thing you want to do is stop playing. I feel like horror games might initially sell well, because people will want to experience that level of horror, but once they experience it, they'll be turned off by how traumatizing it is, and the popularity of such games will decline. There'll be a handful of adren...
Capitalism is the problem, not file sharing.
Furthermore, "piracy" (read: file sharing) enables preservation of software that would otherwise be lost to history.
Finally, emulators aren't illegal, just like virtual machines aren't illegal.
SE are only publishing it, Tri-Ace are developing it. See my comment below, Tri-Ace's two other smartphone games are pretty good - or at least, they're certainly a cut above most of the garbage.
Well it's not true that the video had nothing in it. There's some artwork of what's likely the main character that can be seen at the end.
Also, I have a feeling the main character is the fusion of Lenneth, Silmeria and Hrist.
It has a pretty epic feel for a probable mobile game. But then, Tri-Ace's other two phone games, Chronos Ring and Heaven X Inferno are above average quality-wise, so I'd expect an even higher quality treatment of one of their more established series.
Also, the fact that they have a pretty serious Japanese playwright writing and directing is promising to me. Why would someone like that agree to contribute significantly to this if it were just a smartphone money generat...
It's not like R&C really went away. The last game came out about 2 years ago.
I think it's good. For a while I thought that art with Sigma sitting in the chair with the gun to his head was going to be the cover art, so I'm just glad it isn't. It made the game look like some sort of snuff film or something, yuck.
Wow! Why aren't people talking about the rest of the game?? It looks so good! I wasn't expecting it to look so different and to have normal sized characters.
