It seems as if SCEJ have just been working with third parties mainly this gen.

Funny thing is out of all the people i know with Ipods/Iphones i'm the only one i know who has gamed on it (aside from farmville, etc.) and it sucks for gaming, so lets see almost 200 million people have DS/PSP which is used primarily for gaming compared to the 120 million that own Ipods/phones/pads who mainly use them for music/phone calls....yea Jobs is talking out of his ass again.

But seriously it's very impressive that the Ps3 took this long to "hack" and they didn't even do it like a true hacker, they used stolen code to do it.
Netflix and Hulu Plus year subscription and maybe some sort of free pr0n, and even then i'd only really be doing it because Netflix and HuluPlus subs cost almost twice as much.
Anyone who thinks Sony doesn't have people working on this from a technical stand point is naive, so why not try to screw everyone over who is making them do the work.
Of course they are, in Japan (and most of the world) people are always excited about those franchises no matter what platform they are on.
Would be funny if the Yakuza actually owned stock in Sony as they usually protect companies they have stock in and apparently they have stock in a whole bunch of big companies.

Also wouldn't it be just as illegal to reverse engineer the code that's used?? I know it use to be illegal to reverse engineer code and sell it as your own, not sure if it still is.
I too would love to see America stand up against jailbreaking but i believe not that long ago someone won a case against Apple so now it looks like all jailbreaking is legal in the USA.

I'm not asking because of the virtual kissing and hostess wars, I just liked Yakuza 1 & 2 (haven't bought 3 yet).
Makes me wish i didn't sell my psp, oh well though hopefully Sony announces the Psp2 soon with backwards compatibility.
Yea if Sony can't make current ps3 models jailbreak proof i see them doing like the Psp and just releasing different models that are resistant.
just because it's legal doesn't mean Sony couldn't ban ps3's, hell they could even release a patch or firmware that could brick a jailbroken ps3 and most likely get away with it.
I'm in the same boat, i love Homebrew but at the same time hate piracy so in the end i'd rather Sony just ban the people who use it.
Also the mods took a bub from me today (I know which one too).
