In FPSs: You point the Wii controller at the screen. (like you would with a real gun)
In sword fighting games: If hold the Wii controller like a sword and play a sword fighting game, the experience would obviously feel more real than it would with the other console's controllers.

Real hardcore gamers don't care about the graphics on a game, the controllers or the console.

The Wii has been on motion controls for years, MS's motion controls will fail. (as E3 has shown) As for Sony's motion controls (the Wii rip-off), it will obviously costs more than the Wii and casuals (the people Sony want) are not going to basically buy another Wii that costs more and basically have the same games.
Point is?
MS's motion controls = doomed to die.
Sony's motion control = has a chance, but only if it will cost less than the Wii.
