At no point ever did the devs say there was going to be a season pass. And in any case, I've already pre-ordered it.
I really wish fighting games would stop releasing "ultimate versions" soon after the first iteration. I felt like I just spent $60 on DOA5, and now they've got my favorite VF character, so I'm compelled to get the new one.

It looks terrible. A bunch of those screencaps from the tease were super zoomed in. You've got to take that into consideration. I don't think it will look anything like this.
I have 2 dead N64 controllers (the middle stick just got too loose to use) and my friends all had their own stockpiles of dead N64 controllers. I personally found the Dualshock3 to be fantastic, I've never had any problems with it and the controls were really tight. Then again, I don't play many FPS games on the console, and I have an arcade stick for fighters.

I agree with you, nthstew, the Xbox using DDR3 RAM (instead of the PS4's DDR5) is a bad decision especially since they're going to be using so many resources to manage the fast switching, the dash, and the kinect OS at the same time. Plus it already has a slower CPU, which means it's going to be a heck of a lot slower overall.
This is probably blasphemy, but I never liked the N64 controller's layout, plus the analog stick broke way too easily especially with games like mario kart and smash.
They really should have focused on one character that gets to use a bunch of awesome weapons, this way they wouldn't have to shoehorn a bunch of 1 dimensional personalities into one story.

Agreed. I would add that it's not too difficult to pick your favorite character, learn all the simple commands and combos on the move list and learn a couple of frame advantage moves as well as damaging combos. Take all this and keep fighting online or with friends even.

Don't have a 360. I've been hoping that this game comes to NA for a while now. I get that microsoft payed for the translation and such, but since all the work is already done, why not just go ahead and release it for the PS3 as well?
Terrible review and preoccupation with a single aspect of the button layout.
His argument against the controls doesn't even make any sense. I play with a stick, so of course I want to have the option of multiple button presses to prompt a throw. How is that outdated? DOA, Tekken,VF, BlazBlue, and all the major fighters have it because it reduces lag when you have to move your fingers to another button.

Yes, I messed up. I usually buy fighting games when they drop to $30 or half of whatever they were, but VF just happens to be my favorite so when DOA5 was on an amazon gold box deal for $30, I bought it and spent an embarrassing amount on the totally useless DLC.
To me, that was worth it cuz I love this game. But the problem is that now there's a new "version" which is basically the same as the old version but with a few new characters. Feels like I"m payin...
