That is a special kind of irony. I can't believe I didn't notice that.
This review is coming a bit late, but magically I just bought the game yesterday. Perfect timing.
I agree. Though Major Nelson seems pretty cool, but he's got a tough job repping his company's terrible policies.
Don't forget all the countries where the Xbox isn't launching.
I'm sad that GoT ended this season, but Microsoft has been kind enough to keep leaking these little tidbits almost everyday since E3.
The video still gets youtube hits. They still get the revenue, I still watched the ad at the end of the video. The content is blocked entirely if you use adblock, which isn't fair just because I don't want to see a bunch of ads for penis enlargement and norton's antivirus whenever I browse CNET.
It's not unheard of for a larger company to buy a smaller, more focused competitor and put them in charge of a specific technology. Google, Facebook, Apple all do it.
He's always said that his point of view is all about the profit deal, not consumer rights. Consumer rights obviously plays a role in it, but it's not the whole story.
That being said, I normally agree with Pachter, but I think he's just plain wrong this time. Which is fine, he's human.
For people with adblock like me, the youtube video is below:

I still have games to play on the PS3 coming up and backlogged.
I moved into a new apartment a few months ago and getting the internet set up was a total clusterfuck. Plus our region's internet provider has a monopoly and are total dicks about everything. So yeah, definitely played game offline for a good while. Some of the people in the building are using freaking ATT DSL. That connection can't handle more than one browser tab at a time. If any of them are gamers, I'm betting I know which console they'll choose.
worst. article. ever. never visiting this site again.
I feel ya man. I could barely run Witcher 2 on medium settings. There's no way Withcer 3 is going to work on my rig. Either I have to buy a new computer or get it for console cuz I don't want to miss out on the full experience.
Played it with a controller on PC anyways, won't be a big change for me.
@ aiBreeze
These days I don't think developers can afford to be exclusive unless they're really 1st party.
@ Evil_Ryu
Red Dead Redemption, Heavy Rain, Alan Wake. I really enjoyed these stories.
Spielberg hates games
I feel like this article wasn't written by a gamer, but by some columnist that was asked the weigh in on the PR clusterfuck and did some quick wikipedia research.
it's coming out multiplatform. People just have to not buy it for the xbox.
7% thought nintendo won.
The difference is they're not marketing drive club as a free to play game. I'm guessing that when MS realized they didn't have any real F2Ps they branded KI as such and they deserve to take flak for it.
